They used to eat pellets at half year old but not anymore. I tried fruits, veggies, shrimp, worms, and crickets but they don't work. The temperature and tank is right and clean, but they still won't do anything but sit at the bottom of the tank and look like ice-cubes.

I have two red eared sliders and i checked on them last night and only one of them ate.. the other one is floating with its head and legs out.. I thought it was dead so i held it underwater and after about 2 minutes he tried swimming to the top and when he did he started floating again.

The only thing he seems to eat are turtle pellets and grapes. I know fruit isn't the best thing to give him, so it leaves me with basically turtle pellets.
I have tried the works, like all sorts of lettuces (the red leaves, like collard) and carrots and other stuff, but he takes no interest. What type of vegetable is he garunteed to like?

I thought they were both the same thing but maybe I'm wrong.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the two?

Thanks!

Thinking cost of pet store products can be expensive. Or any suggestions for the cleanest habitat for tiger salamanders and how to divide substrate from water without using a water dish? And any suggestions on size of tank and suitable habitat for at least 10 or more fire bellied newts? Do fire bellied newts need a land and water area? The newts I do have live mainly in an aquatic setting. After morphing do newts need more water or land?

I've been recently told that a 40 gallon tank might be too big for a snake of that age. It never occured to me that a young snake might prefer a 10 or 20 gallon enclosure to start off but i guess that makes sense. Anyways, some people i've spoken to seem to think it's too big while others shrug it off. My snake seems healthy and is very friendly. All responses are appreciated.

When I was 15, I once found a snake in my summer camp in Arizona. I thought it was a garter snake, but now I am not so sure, it was about 1 to 1/2 ft long and it was solid green with black beady eyes. I picked it up and it did not hurt me, it just wrapped around my wrist. what did I pick up? A garter snake or a rough green snake? Someone please answer lest I go mad trying to figure it out.
