What are some fun fish tank pets?

We just ourchased a 50 gallon fish tank and dont know if we want fish or other, can you guys trow some suggestion my way

if you devided the tank up you could have several tarantulas, they are pretty fairly easy to care for, do not need loads of attention and are really interesting to watch.

You can keep a young turtle in a 50 gallon tank, and still have community fish in there too. I have a 55gal tank with a 3" western painted, 5 silver dollars, 3 red-finned sharks, a bunch of molies and guppies(in case Hachi, my turt, gets hungry), and 6 neon tetras. He usually goes for the neons or the white molly, but I kep him well fed and he usually tolerates the fish.

Another cool choice is a terrarium, with live plants. To do this, you should have rock onthe bottom, about 1-3 inches worth, then some charcoal to reduce the mold you MAY get, and the dirt. Then you plant some plants(ferns and other rainforest plants are good, remember to trim them like a bonsai tree and they'll look wonderful). You can get some anoles to put in there for life and all you'll have to do is spray the cage with water once or twice a day, get a lamp to put over it, and throw 5-6 crickets in there for a day. You can also put frogs in there.

There are a lot of things you can do with a 50gal tank, but keeping lizards like water dragons and bearded dragons doesn't sound fun to me. I would rather have my dragon living like a king in a huge cage, but thats just me... O, and iggys make HORRID pets. I have one. He's evil. End of story.....

I have more fun with my snakes than I did with fish. You can take out a snake and play with it, or just make sure it's fed and temperature is correct if you don't have time for it. It's all the same to the snake. I have corns, a king and a ball python. A 50 gallon tank would be a lifelong home for any of those.

i woulnt go with the second guy sharks are not ggod pets to hard to take care of and arent nice
i wouldnt go with an oscar they are very big and aggresive u could probley only keep one in that tank because they have been known to fight to the death over territory
i think a turtle would be ok or mabye a couple rabbits i have a snake i love the little guy and there are alot of snakes that can fit in a 50 gallon like a corn snake, milk snake ,sand boa etc. but if u dont like reptiles i would go with mabye a guinea pig there so cute wut ever u think do some research i am pretty sure u will find some thing!

If you want fish I would get an Oscar we had one for years, he had a personality that was very smart and he could get your attention, a very good pet.

We have an iguana that we kept in a 50 gallon until we had to buy a large cage, avery good pet too, ours is very sweet and calm.

My sister had a snake but all I seen it do was lay there, but she and her kids liked it.

My first tank was trial and error. I finally decided on sharks. They are named aptly so, but are really little breeds of cat fish. These are very colorful, very active fish that are totally compatible with one another, and they are quite beautiful. I have had some of the same for many years now, and they are stunning and have doubled or tripled in size. Some commercial names for these lovely creatures are, bala sharkes, silver spotted catfish, Red fin sharks, angel shark. good luck. oh, and be careful, make sure if you mix your species that they will not now, or as they grow eat eachother. Like African frog with fish, or crabs with sicklids, etc. I learned the hard way. Also, remember while you will want to get lots and lots of fish, really only one per 10 gallons of water is idea for the fish to grow and prosper. good luck
