I was told at the petshop that they are friendly nice little lizards, and they enjoy being held. My Armadillo lizard is a baby, about 2 inches long. thats including the tail. But he is turning out to be a bad boy. I really dont know if it is a boy or not. but i have had him for almost a month now, and it hasnt shed or anything but it is becoming aggresive, he is in a ten gallon tank right now by him self, and gets PLENTY of pinhead crickets, but the last couple times i have handled him to move him and clean the tank, he has opened his mouth and hissed and yesterday he actually nipped me. He has the right temprature and is feed well, and he is in a room where the comotion is very minimal. Will he grow out of it or will he keep becoming more aggresive? someone please help. I have heard that if they bite when they are full grown they bite so hard they break their own jaw, I DONT WANT THIS, not for my sake but his. Please help! he is very , and very active if he dont know u r there

I want to keep it but I don't want to give it live bugs, what should i do?

2007-02-23 11:55:35 · 8 answers · asked by Anonymous

Do they like to sit outside and crawl around? Can you hold them and take them on a walk? I have cats, can the tortoise choke on hair. Do you give it a bath in a container or a real bath?

I want one that i can keep in a small tank (like 10-30 gallon) and i want one that i can hold, and that isn't aggressive so that kids can also play with them.

but there is still some peices left on his body. Is this okay? usually he sheds in one whole peice. The humidity is high, I spray it real good often. This is the first time he has had a hard time. Could it be to moist. I did change his bedding a couple weeks ago, but I think he like it better then the other stuff because he can crawl under it and he often does. The bedding is for corn snakes so I know it isn't poisionous. So, im not sure what else it could be and I don't want him to have to go through that again. Also, what do I do about the extra skin? Thanks for taking the time to read this

I know that they have to regularly shed their skin, but is it safe or necessary to help and pull off stubborn pieces. I noticed the one in the pet shop never have any excess stuff hanging on them, but maybe that's because they eat it off each other. Is it good to give it a hand in getting the stuff off?

My brothers leapard gecko is really thin compared to when we got it. We have had it for about 5-6 months or so, and it seems like it isn't eating. It's midsection is really thin with a lot of loose skin, it looks like it's sunken in. We bought some calcium powder to dust crickets with. We just dump in 1 dozen crickets and he eats them when he wants throughout the week. We do have a working heat rock on one side. Do we need to feed him something other that crickets, or does anyone know of something that may be wrong with him?

I got a baby red eared slider about a week ago, and his not eating or swimming, he moves a little sometimes. He won't open his eyes either. Is he sick?
What can i do to help him?
The two first days, i saw him swim a little bit. He can only open one eye, i got him like that, i was putting some turtle eye drops.
He has some white stuff on his legs and tail? Is that bad?

In Merida Yucatan - someone gave me a very young iguana, probably taken from the beach. It doesn't want to eat or drink.
I want to return it to the wild. Is this possible?

Is there much of a differnce in these? I need one of these for a leopard gecko, and was wandering if one is better then the other. The Exo-terra Heat wave or the Zoo-med? (these are both undertank heaters) and also if I have one of these, is it still necisarry to have a basking lamp? (Im using a 10 gallon) THANKS
