Frogs will ONLY eat something if it is moving. Their vision really is based on movement. Thats why if you move real slow, they can still see you.

If you cant feed it live bugs, then you shouldn't keep it. I used to keep frogs for the summer and open the cage around August 28th so they could hibernate. Three out of ten returned the next year ! Lol. They could be good pets if you kept them in a cage outside and let the bugs go to them...?

Main point: If you cant take care of it, dont keep it. Frogs cant be handled that much because they absorb things through their skin, including deadly soap, cleaning materials, and other toxic things. Keep that in mind.

Good luck and make the right choice.

I really dont recomend taking wild animals out of their natural habitat, but if you must make shure it is legal. Some states it is illegal to take wild life out of their natural place, do your research also. You will have to feed it live bugs, Im not hsure where you are from and what bugs are locally native to you. but i would try to catch a few and feed them it. go to your pet shop and get some feeder crickets, being that it is only one frog , i think a dozen should last you for a little bit. Now also. since i dotn know where you are from or have no description to what kind of "frog" it is i dont have to much specifics to really give you. First make shure it is a frog and not a toad. Alot of people make this mistake. Frogs need humidity, toads are more dry. Both will need a shallow water dish. less than 2 inches deep. It sounds funny but treefrogs have been know to drown so i would put a pebble or a rock in the dish too. Now tree frogs have the sticky pads on its toes. Bullfrogs are big hulky water dwelling frogs same as leopard frogs and pickering, waterfrogs dont have the sticky pads but they do have the webbed toes. Both tree frogs and water dwelling frogs skin must sty moist, if not they will dry out. and die. either way i recommend if you keep it establish the diffrence and get some potting soil for the bottem of the aquarium. if its a toad or tree frog get the shallow water dish, if it is a larger water dwelling frog keep a deeper bigger water dish in with it. i would put a rock in the middle of that to just in case. tree frogs will need branches and what not. they are better in a aquarium taller that it is long. they like to stay up off the ground. Either way they all eat live bugs. Hopefully you can identify your "frog" and figure out what more they need if you decide to keep it. but you will need to get it some crickets. Do your research and good luck.

I understand finding a wild animal and wanting to keep it. I go through that all of the time. Most likely your frog will die within a week or so, because it is completely wild. It will not know how to function in captivity. But, if you really want to keep it, I would reccomend live bugs. That is the only thing it will eat, because that is his instinct. You may try mealworms, because you can purchase them at a pet food store.

Let it go if you want a frog buy one that is captive breed don't take animals from the wild. Plus your going to have to feed any frog live food, anywhere from insects, fish, to mice. So please let it go. Also it could be an endangered species of frogs in which case it is extremely important for it to be free.

online research as to what type of frog it is, what it's needs are and what it eats. frogs do eat bugs and larva so if you plan on keeping it, feed it what it needs to eat.
