Both of my terappins don't eat and doesn't really bother with food. Less movement. Only response when I knock. What happen to them and what should I do?

Are you sure you are feeding them the correct food? Too many people think turtles are vegetarians, but in reality, turtles only eat limited vegetables. Try live earthworms--they should be excited to hunt and kill the live worms. You can also try crickets, or small fish (I used to catch minnows from the creek in front of my house).

Trying to hibernate them could kill them. Make sure the turtles have plenty of humidity--buy a humidifier or boil some water (this makes the area more humid). Make sure they always have fresh water available. I would warm my water up slightly and then place the turtle in the water to soak. (But don't get it too hot!) The container should be shallow enough for the turtle to crawl in and out of.

Turtles like to burrow themselves, especially in peat moss (which you can buy at Wal-Mart for a couple dollars) which holds humidity.

Just make sure you have a good environment, and remember that heat lamps are not good for turtles. Hopefully the environment change will help before they take a turn for the worse!

Knowing the species would really help. Please add the species if you know it.

If you need help with that, try the World of Turtles gallery at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com

Common problems include: temps, humidity issues, and diet concerns- but we cannot offer solid advice without a little more data.
