I have two RES Turtles that I inherited from another family. The female is huge and is biting the legs of the male. I have seperated them but the female really needs a pond. Anyone know who to call to find a home for these guys? Also, if I kept these turtles outside in a kiddie pool, I would have to keep the water heated, right? Our daytime temp is about 65deg right now. Thanks for any info or help!

Look up a reptile vet in the yellow pages for L.A. They would know of both shelters and stores or may take them themselves. There is an amazing place in Orange County that is all reptiles. I know they take in animals, but I can't remember their name.

I don't know about donation. I do know if you are going to keep them outside you must keep them raccoon proof. I live in southern California and RES are one of there favorite dishes. It is a very sad thing to go out and find them mutilated. I would suggest putting an add in the paper. I am sure a turtle person would take them off your hands.

You should bring them inside 65 is way to cold for them. And I would look on line for turtle rescues in your area. Good luck.
