I would do an Internet search. I run a reptile rescue in Texas so I really appreciate when someone would rather adopt a reptile.

yes i thank you too for rescuing, one place to start would be to look for local herpeticultural society's in your area, you could start by looking online or asking a reptile specialty store or local breeder, (you can ask the previous places for rescue centers also)
best of luck and happy herping

If you go to Google & type in "Reptile Rescue", you should be able to find what you're looking for

you dont say what type of pet you wish to adopt but here is a web link if they cant help you they may be able to tell you the address of someone who can, or you could always contact your rspca.www.crossbreed-and-mongrel-club.org.uk/rescue_central.htm

There is one in Birmingham called Proteus. They have a fairly good reputation and are pretty big.
