Erm, snakes have to eat the whole prey model to live. Can't really feed a snake kibble, sorry. However, snakes should only be fed pre killed and/or frozen thawed prey items anyways. Any animal can bite, including you. A snake's size depends on the species and there are numerous species. A ball python is around 4 feet. A reticulated python can be 25+ feet.

Size depends on the python. If you really want a snake you should start smaller. A ball python doesn't get any larger than 5 feet, on average. Pythons DO bite, they have very many very sharp teeth. Even a python no bigger than a foot can draw blood, but pythons are usually VERY docile. The only time I've ever seen one strike is when bothered while being fed.
Ball pythons make GREAT pets. But if you're really interested in getting one, you should do a lot of research. They require special lights, tanks, substrates and heat sources. They also require a certain amount of humidity.
They ONLY eat mice. I would strongly suggest not feeding them live, as live mice CAN hurt your snake. Almost all pet stores offer frozen mice, and all snakes will go for them. If you can't get it to eat frozen at first, wait a little longer, and try feeding it in either a paper bag or somewhere enclosed. Some snakes don't eat if you're watching.
Again, research before purchasing. Some pythons do get well over ten feet in length, so make sure you can provide space for it for the course of it's life.

AS said previously the ball python is one of the most docile (doesnt bite very often) and one that stays a manageable size under 6' and good for beginner snake keepers, after that most can be very tempermental.
the Burmese Python can be a docile snake if handled regularly but they can reach lengths of 18ft and 300+ lbs oh and feed on bunnys too, the reticulated python is known as a very "nervous" snake and not usually docile add that to a snake that can reach 33ft and 400lbs this is NOT a snake for beginners. you might want to find out what species snake you were lookin at as it might be beautiful but you need to know what your gettin. one good medium sized snake that has a wonderful temperment is the columbian boa or common boa they are beautiful also. and average 8 ft as adults

My python has always been very good to me.
If you don't want to see it eat live mice, then you can buy frozen one's online and de-thaw them when it comes time to feed.
Mine has never bitten me. But, all snakes bite if they think they are in danger..or if they are aggravated..it kind of depends on the snake's personality.
They get pretty damn big. They can reach up to 16 feet, and larger, so you would have to get a big tank..
A pet store isn't a really great place to buy one though, they don't take good care of them..so try a breeder or go to a reptile show.
