Can I just use tap water, and let it sit over night? Or do I need to buy bottled water?

bottled water does have nutrients in it and it's best to use, i don't know what numb nuts up there is talking about, but you can use tap water as long as you use yap water conditioner, you can find it at most pet stores that sell fish but it's made for both salt water and fresh, make sure it says you can use it for freshwater, and make sure the water is room temp., and other care tips for your turtle, make sure you keep the water clean, give him food in the water at least every other day, and keep heat on him throughout the day but you need to turn it off at night. Good Luck!

Water is water, tap, bottled, spring or creek, it is still water. I would suggest that if you use tap water, use some kind of declor product and change the water at room temperature. Most cities are now using cloramine in the water and just leaving it out over night does not remove the chemical, like when just chlorine was added to the water to kill bacteria.

i'd get a 30 or 40 gallon tank. i'd fill the tank as much as 3 million/2 or 3/4 finished, the turtles would incredibly like that extra acceptable. pink-eared sliders are very good swimmers. each and every little thing else sounds good. wish this facilitates.

no tap water isnt very good water to use. the chlorine can affect him and can cause him to have swollen eyes, unless you buy some medicine drops to eliminate the chlorine.
