My male betta fish refuses to eat. It's been like this for the past 3 days. I'm really concerned. He just swims around and around the tank and doesn't even aknowlage that there is food in the bowl. I've only had him for about 3 months, but is it possible he's dying? I've had 3 bettas previous to him so it's not like I'm doing anything wrong...what should I do?

Well a couple weeks ago i was at my local saltwater fish store about to buy a pair of true perculas but i could of sworn they were false percs by looking at coloring and at that point i was 100% positive they were false percs. The false percs they were selling wer priced at 20$ but the true percs at 35$. Do pet stores try and pass off false percs as true percs to make money?

I'm breeding mollies, and I still have guppies in my tank, so I don't want to put too much salt in so that my guppies will die. So the question is, what is the maximum amount of salt I can use for guppies, so I don't kill them? Looking for best answer!

Thanks!

I know this might sound dumb but I just want to know. I received today this heater precision submersible heater. I just want to know if it works like the other submersible heater. See this picture http://www.aqua-fish.net/imgs/articles/vertical-aquarium-heater.jpg. I was reading the instructions and it says..."place heater vertically in aquarium" If i put all the way horizontally is okay? The heater is Dual temp 5-20 precision submersible heater

I have a 16 gallon fish tank. Bio-Orb!
I have just added one male beta. But the tank is way to big for him to just be by himself. I know that other male betas or other long tale fish will result in fighting. I was just inquiring to see if perhaps a small spool of neons would be ok ? Angle fish? Thanks

He sinks to the bottom of tank and stays there, he seems to have trouble swimming. One of my goldfish tends to ram into him. After a while we moved him into a smaller tank so the goldfish wouldn't nip him anymore. Instead of sinking he now floats on his side and doesn't swim at all. Is it swim bladder disease? Anyway to help him?

Okay, well I breed guppies, and everytime I get babies, they die! I have a seperate 1 gallon tank for them, with a thermometer, a BIT of gravel, a silk plant, an under-gravel filter, and a light. Okay, so that tank is at 73 ferenheit. Don't tell me I need a 10 gallon, because I don't have the money and the room! Anyways, so everytime my guppy gives birth, the fry are healthy. Then some start to go missing. I checked yesterday, and some of my fry had pointed tails! The next day, those ones died! Are they deformed, or just really diseased? Someone please answer!

Thanks........

My betta made a bubble nest, so I got him a lady. I put them in a breeder tank (one that separates down the middle so that they are in the same water but can't reach each other) and fed them freeze dried bloodworms. I left them there for three weeks and noted that his bubble nest was still there, she was swollen and fat with eggs, and they seemed to sit and look at one another a lot, so I took out the devider. They danced around a bit doing what I assume is the betta "nasty", and then they just stopped... rather than swimming to the top as I'd imagined she would (to lay her eggs in the bubble nest, no?) she started to chase him. I had my net on standby (because I know to take the male out after mating, because often one betta will kill the other) but I couldn't manage to get him out before she'd taken a few good chomps out of his tail. After the injury, he was REALLY inactive, he just sat at the bottom of the tank, but now that he's healing, he's REALLY REALLY active. Is this normal?

OK I have 1 betta 3 mollies and 2 dwarf gourami. I came to loo kat my tank and noticed one of my mollies tail was all ripped up and swollen! I assumed it was one of my gourami, because he had been chasing everyone around. I DID NOT see it but im assuming becasue my betta has been getting along fine with them. So I separated the Gourami into its own 2.5 tank. My dumb brother poured some nox itch into it. It wasnt ALOT but it was more than it needed. So I did abotu a 40% water change. WILL I need to do a 100% change? or leave it? And will my mollies tail be alright???? WIll it heal or die. He has been sitting at the bottom make a little bit of swims in the tank. I don't want him to die!

I recently bought my betta a 2.5 gallon tank. It came with a Whisper filter, but it was too strong for my betta (it sucked him into the filter) so I immedentialy took it out. He has an air pump in their from his last 1 gallon tank but no filter.

Does any one know of a good filter for a betta that WON'T suck him in?

IVE HAD BETTA FISH BEFORE BUT THEY DIED DUE TO THE WHOLE PLANT ON TOP OF THE VASE SETUP THAT MY MOM CREATED...SHE THOUGHT IT WOULD LOOK CUTE...ANYWAYS.......I RECENTLY MOVED MY FISH FROM A .5 GAL TANK TO A 2.5 GAL TANK....HE WAS DOING FINE AND EVERYTHING....BUT NOW HE WONT EAT....AND HE SITS AT EITHER THE TOP OF THE TANK OR AT THE BOTTOM AND DOES NOT MOVE....AND WHEN I SAY DOES NOT MOVE I OFTEN PASS BY HIM AND THINK THAT HE IS DEAD....I DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR ON HIM OR ANYTHING TO DETERMINE DISEASE. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE A FILTER OF SOME SORT AND SOME KIND OF HEATING BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GET ONE AT THAT WILL FIT A 2.5 GAL TANK. I CANT GET A BIGGER TANK DUE TO SPACE ISSUES....I ALSO HOUSE 2 HAMSTERS IN MY BEDROOM IN SEPARATE CAGES AND LIVE IN AN APARTMENT. ANY ADVICE ON SAVING STIR-FRY (THATS HIS NAME...BOYFRIEND NAMED HIM...LOL) WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

My guppy just had her fry today. The only fish in the tank with them is their mom and she has been trying to catch them but they swim away and hid in the plants or wedge themselves between the rocks on the bottom. I think they are safe from her but I would like to know when they will be big enough to not be eaten. Also is breaking up flake food really really small enough for them to eat?
