My female is full of eggs and I have her and the male together in a 10 gallon tank. He made a bubble nest but the female doesn't do anything. She swims away from him and her fins are really torn up and I'm afraid if I keep her in there too long he'll kill her. Help please

I need everyone's comment on this!

Here is my tank:
10 gallon freshwater with 2 Cherry Barbs, 2 Bronze Cories and 5 Neon Tetras.

Water Quality: pH 7.0 ammonia and nitrite are 0.

I don't want to add any more of the fish I have right now, wel maybe. What kind of "other" fish could suit my tank.

I asked a similar question yesterday but I want more of a variety.. I have about 9 tiger barbs [the smaller ones] and 2 small cory catfish they usually stay at the bottom to clean.. and I was wondering if I could get about 8 or 9 neon tetras or is that too much?

I go to my L(saltwater)FS a lot. I was there one day and they got this huge clown trigger i would say about 9 or 10 inches. They put him in a 20g LONG!!!! I would come back to the store a whole lot for 2 months and it was still living healthy and i asked them if it was the same one and they said yes. I told them to put him in a much larger tank but they insisted he was fine, they never listen to the 15 year old kids lol. Finally some idiot bought it for 550$ (Stores a rip off but i sometimes get free stuff). HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IT LIVED THAT LONG IN THAT TANK???

My guppy tank doesn't have aquarium salt in it. I know my guppies will be healthier if I put it in. Will suddenly adding it shock my guppies? Is aquarium salt good for guppy fry (babies)?

My fish tank is looking very empty. We have a semi aggressive tank so the fish would need to be ok with that. I want something kinda big and that is colorful. What should I get?

I recently established a freshwater tropical fishtank. Initially it contained one african dwarf frog and 5 neon tetras. Four of the tetras dies within one day of establishing the tank. I went back to the pet store and brought a sample of the water which they tested. They said there was nothing wrong with the water. I bought more tetras and some guppies. They were all fine for a few days and were eating and moving about normally. However, the guppies then started dying too! The tetras are completely fine and the frog is doing well. I removed three dead guppies from the tank this morning and am afraid the last remaining one will die soon as well. What is going on here?

FYI: It is a 15 gallon tank. I have a heater and the water temperature has been at about 78 degrees. I used a water conditioner when I established the tank. I have both live and fake plants . I also have two pieces of driftwood and floating plants which help subdue the light (which I keep off most of the time.)

I already have a power filter that filters up to 20 gallons on it, but I've noticed that even when I do water changes with gravel vacuums, there's still a lot of stuff floating around. Sure I'll try to net it out, but it still floats around in there. Whenever I put a new cartridge in my filter, a week later, its clogged with dead food and fish waste and my filter does filter properly because of it. I guess its because I recently switched from feeding my fish flakes and bloodworms to flakes, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and tubifex, but not in one feeding. I just feed them twice a day without feeding them the same foods consecutively. Plus at night I drop a tropical tablet and an algae wafer for my cory cats and oto cats.

Do you think that adding another power filter like the one I have will reduce the clogging of my cartridges with better filtration? If so, will it have any big affects? For instance will I have to recycle my tank because of the new filter? I'll give someone a best answer

Hi,
This has been really bugging me. I am very faithful about doing a partial (1/4) water change every week on all my tanks. I add the correct amount of dechlor to the water, and make sure its chemistry is close to the tanks. I change my filter cartidges once a month, and feed my fish twice a day. None of my tanks are overstocked, this is what I have-
-1 male betta in 10 gallon w/ power filter set on low and heater that keeps water at 78-80F
-1 male betta in 5 gallon w/ undergravel filter and heater that keeps water at 78-80F
-2 male bettas in divided 10 gallon w/ heater that keeps water at 78-80F and 2 small power filters
-1 29 gallon w/ 12 female bettas, a heater that keeps the water at 76-78F, 4 bronze cories, and 1 small dwarf pleco w/ 55 gallon power filter

Hi,
Once again my bettas have gotten dropsy. I do a 1/4 water change w/ a vacuum (though I only vacuum 1/2, not all of it throughly, the other half I just get the top layer, then I switch next time I clean the tanks because I have heard this helps w/ water chemistry) I have 1 male in a 5 gallon, 2 males in a divided 10 gallon, and 1 male in a 10 gallon all by himself. I also had a female in a 1 gallon, now she is in a 3 way divided 10 gallon. Anyways, out of the 5 bettas I have had with dropy, all were either a white with a little red, or a yellow/white color. Do these certain colored bettas have a weaker immune system or something? I have all thier tanks equipped w/ filters, and a heater that keeps their water at 78-80F. My other bettas are fine, even the purple/orange male who was in the divided 10 gallon w/ the sick male betta. Anyone know why?
Thanks!
