I am a newbie with a 50 gallon salt-water tank and will purchase 2 clown fish soon. I would like to add some artificial decor, plants and/or coral for my fish so they are happy fish! I have a large rock with lots of tunnels in the tank now -- I'm just looking to add some color and favorite 'hang out' spots for my new clown fish...a happy fish is a healthy fish! Being a newbie I would like to stay away from live coral and plants until I'm more experienced.

He is a 50cm baramundi in a six foot tank and is swimming upside down with cotton looking stuff hanging off of him; even on his eyes. How do i know exactly what is wrong with him and what do i do to cure him before he dies. I put salt and a fungal treatment in the tank but is there anything else i can do he looks ready to die.

In the tank now I have 2 glow tetras, 3 black skirt tetras, 2 blue darwf gouramis, chinese alage eater, and a giant danio. And dont give me crap about so many fish in small tank people. These fish have been together for 4 months and are very happy. Saw the crab over the weekend and want to add him for something different. Oh yea and be nice or I will just add bleach and start over people!

I'm new to the salt water tank world and was wanting to know if adding live marine plants to a FOWLR tank is a good idea?
The tank is doing great! The cycle is moving along. The nitrate/nitrite, amonia, pH, etc. are within normal range. Right now a yellow tang, a blenny, 3 damsels, and 10 tiny hermit crabs are residing in a 65 gallon tank. I know fish will like to eat the plants, but with they eat them faster then they can grow? Do plants harm the FOWLR tank?

Well, I have a $1000 budget for new fishtanks this year. This year I decided to get a new 75 gal. with another oscar. I have never did salwater before and I imagine after my oscar tank is done I will have about $100-$150 left over. With this I would like to set up a very small saltwater tank. Is it possible to have a reef tank very small? I have never did saltwater tanks before, so I would like to start small anyway. I think maybe like a 5 gallon? I have heard of people successfully keeping, I believe a type of damsel, in a 5 gallon saltwater tank with live rock and an anenome. Is this ok to do? How much would it cost me? Thanks for any answers!

I know $600 isn't much in terms of saltwater, do not include the stand or fish prices, as I can make a stand in my shop. Please include any decor in the tank, and any needed equiptment. I currently have 4 freshwater tanks running, so please don't lecture me on basics. Thanks for any answers!!!

I caught a lamprey eel in lake michigan over the weekend. The only thing i can find that they eat is flesh and I am not going to feed it the flesh of anything i had. I was wondering if anyone knew what they ate besides blood/flesh. Maybe hotdogs or fish food or something, please help!

It will be freshwater, and at the aquarium store here enough sand for my aquarium would be like $40. I know I can get play sand for like $3 for a 40 lb. bag. Thanks!

I want to build my own fishtank because I find the other ones really expensive. I just want to build a 20-30 gallon one. I already googled it and no results came up. Is it possible for me to build one out of pre cut glass? I already repaired a 50 gallon fishtank myself.
