Convict Cichlids are able to breed at a very young age. The size of brood will be smaller but they can breed very young. First thing you will see is two convicts pair up and claim a territory for breeding. Once this happens, all other fish in the tank can be in for a good thrashing from the pair of convicts. If you have two convicts pair up then it is wise to remove the other fish.

Yes, convicts can start breeding at a very young age. You should let them pair off by themselves and move the formed pair to their own breeding tank.

Yeah, they can. If you have a male and female anyway. Two will pare up and you better get the other two out of the tank or they get beat up.
