i have a freshwater golden clam. basically i dont do anything.

It will bury in the sand/gravel and it will filter feed on stuff in the water. Really there isnt anything else they need.

Best thing to do is put it back in the wild.

Really, you will not be able to provide the perfect conditions that clams need to survive.

They are filter feeders, meaning, the aquarium will have to be nearly full of microscopic food particles (all sorts of microscopic bacteria, and "critters" that naturally inhabit the water) it needs. There is just no way to re-create a clam's natural habitat in an aquarium.

Please put it back.

i have breefely heard of freashwater clams in an aquarium. i have only seen one source. it said you can keep it in the aquarium but as it gets larger you have to feed it or it will die. The site said somthing about feeding it egg but i dont know how to feed it. So if the clam is small and you have a good size tank you should be ok for right now.
