what's so nice about red bellied piranhas?..

nothing....please think that they will be exciting and aggressive, but at home they are really boring. They dont really move much. Their coloration darkerns and they will get large.

REally their is no upside of getting them unless you can fully like the beauty of these fishes and have the right things and knowledge to care for them.

Very little,they can get large,they require large tanks and it's hard to find an uncontaminated food source for them, long term. Also since they are schooling fish they don't do well as individuals,however if the tank isn't large enough,they will turn on each other.
I guess the point is, if you have to as this question,you will need more experience before attempting to keep such a difficult and expensive (to care for) fish.

They look quite nice, they are powerful fish and have been jazzed up by people thinking they can eat whole cows in seconds. Kind of like jaws and they are easy to get hold of :P

well its cool that they are ilegal in every state besides colorado, and they eat gold fish
