Hi,
Once again my bettas have gotten dropsy. I do a 1/4 water change w/ a vacuum (though I only vacuum 1/2, not all of it throughly, the other half I just get the top layer, then I switch next time I clean the tanks because I have heard this helps w/ water chemistry) I have 1 male in a 5 gallon, 2 males in a divided 10 gallon, and 1 male in a 10 gallon all by himself. I also had a female in a 1 gallon, now she is in a 3 way divided 10 gallon. Anyways, out of the 5 bettas I have had with dropy, all were either a white with a little red, or a yellow/white color. Do these certain colored bettas have a weaker immune system or something? I have all thier tanks equipped w/ filters, and a heater that keeps their water at 78-80F. My other bettas are fine, even the purple/orange male who was in the divided 10 gallon w/ the sick male betta. Anyone know why?
Thanks!

Once she's better the female is going in a 29 gallon community w/ a soritory of girls already, the males will then get 5 gallons to themselves.

I just treated a balloon molly for dropsy, and it survived

Get marcyn TC, and use as directed, but for 10 days, instead of only 5 days

do a partial waterchange before you start the treatment
also don't forget to take out the filter cartridge

Hope that helps
Good luck

there is absoultly no connection both are different issues.

Drospy is caused by poor water quality so you must be doing something wrong with waterchanges and freguncies.

Remember that dropsy is a symtom not a disease so it isnt transferred from fish to fish. it is caused again by poor water quality and the organs shut down.

But to answer your question. No it has nothing to do with coloration, and there is no stonger coloration.

Betta info can be found on my betta site http://www.bcaquatics.com

Edit:.... Dropsy is 98% fatal.... unless you know how to restart organs she isnt going to make it.... So i dont think that she will be going back into the tank. Again your water isnt right.

how long have you had her? she could just be getting old with age. i looked everywhere for her symptoms and i think the 2 white spots are just her going pale. theres also white spot disease if you want to look that up but i don't think she has that. also, check the water parameters and the temp. hope i helped!
