That depends on what you're calling a red-fin - a rainbow, or a red-tailed shark. Also on the size of the tank. Red-tails (tail only is red) can get around 6-7 inches while a rainbow (all fins are red) gets closer to 6 inches. These should have at least 30-50 gallons of space by the time they're adults - they can also get somewhat aggressive with tankmates once they establish a territory, so it's best to give them enough room that they can get along with others in the tank.

i was told these tanks are no good,and if in the sun light get algae in them
