My guppy tank doesn't have aquarium salt in it. I know my guppies will be healthier if I put it in. Will suddenly adding it shock my guppies? Is aquarium salt good for guppy fry (babies)?

Actually, some people add a small amount of aquarium salt to there guppies tanks. In the wild, the guppies live where a little salt from the ocean is mixed in. Petsmart adds aquarium salt to their tanks.

Adding salt should not shock your fish. If you are really worried about it you can introduce it slowly.
You need to be really careful about he amount of aquarium salt you add. Salt does not evaporate, so the only significant way it gets out is when you do water changes. When you do water changes add the salt to the new water. Do not add extra salt for top-off space, because if you have too much salt you will kill your fish. Do not allow too much salt to build up! lots of people make the mistake of adding enough salt for the entire tank, each week. You will have dead fish very quickly! Only replace the ammount of salt you have taken out.

Why do you need to add salt? If you slowly add it, it would not be a problem. How big is your tank? This will dictate how much salt you should add at a time. Start with one tablespoon per 10 gallons. Add one more tablespoon (per 10 gallons) each day for 2 days, don't add salt on the third day. On the 4th day, add another tablespoon (per 10 gallons) as well as on the 5th day. Clean the tank the sixth day, with a 25% water change and add one tablespoon of salt to the water you are adding back into the tank. I would not suggest that more than 4 tablespoons of salt per 10 gallon (2 tablespoons per 5 gallons) be in the tank at any time. If you do a 25% water change, add back 25% of 4 tablespoons (1 tablespoon). Just keep 4 tablespoons of salt in the tank per 10 gallons and you will have no issues. ALSO, to acclimate them back to freshwater, do it slowly by doing 15% water changes twice a week and NOT adding any salt back into the tank.

EDIT: You certainly don't have to, and the Guppies won't really know the difference, but it will keep them a bit healthier and less prone to diseases.

EDIT 2: You only have to add salt when you change the water. Once you get to the 4 tablespoons of salt in the tank, do a 25% water change the next day. When you refill the tank after the water change, add another tablespoon of salt. At all times, keep 3-4 tablespoons of salt in the water.
