I have a 16 gallon fish tank. Bio-Orb!
I have just added one male beta. But the tank is way to big for him to just be by himself. I know that other male betas or other long tale fish will result in fighting. I was just inquiring to see if perhaps a small spool of neons would be ok ? Angle fish? Thanks

bottom feeders are not recommended for this aquarium. The Bio-Orb.
Something about the filtration system. Also what would be the recommended total amount of fish that I can add to the tank without it causing harm to each other.

Bettas won't bother other types of fish. I've had them in community tanks before and they do very well. In fact, people who have only seen them in the little bitty bowls have no idea how active and beautiful they really are.

Bettas and neons would be fine. As long as it is not another betta, you need to worry more about something being too aggressive towards the betta-not the other way around. I'd avoid tiger barbs and paradise fish.

A 16 gallon tank containing the betta, six neon tetras and a corydora would make an attractive and interesting tank.

Good luck

ok, bettas do well as a community fish, they only fight other male bettas or female bettas or male guppys because they have long fins

definately no angels because they need a 30 gallon high minimum as adults

and forget the 1 inch per gallon rule, it's BS

here is an example for your tank:
5-6 rasboras
3 platies (they can be all males)
6 zebra danios
6 cardinal tetras
4-5 applesnails, since you can't have cory's

that's about it, and will give you some color as well

Hope that helps
Good luck

Forget the betta barrack. Get some more fish! 3-4 small angels should be fine. a couple blue or gold gouramis. and a small school of neons, at least 6. I don't know why you couldn't keep catfish or loaches in there, as long as you made sure food got to them. If you put in some well rinsed sliced green beans, that should do the trick.

No on the angel fish, they grow to big and need a larger tank. A group of neons would be fine, but they tend to die pretty easily, as mentioned the cardinal neons are a bit better. Also, is your tank cycled?

angel fish are considered semi-aggressive and not a good match for mr betta.

i would consider some platies, peaceful tetras (the smaller ones that don't nip), raspboras, smaller gouramis (like sunset honey gouramis, sparkling gouramis, croaking grouramis), and white cloud mountain minnows.

i have a 20 gallon with 1 male betta 2 pearl gouramis 4 sunset honey gouramis and a bunch of rasboras.

try cardinal tetras instead of neons, neons are realy delicate, cardinals tend to do better...black neons are also ok btu get larger (count as 2inch adults) or glowlight tetras are awsome and stay in the 1inch adult range

a small school of rasboras would also work well! harlequins are absolutly awsome little fish.

avoid angels, angels are cichlids and as small babies can be peacefull, but bettas tend to attack angels due to the finnage, and angles as they get older act on their nature and tend to become finnippers as well as a danger to smaller fish.

you could also do a small cleanup crew of a small school of cory or ottos for a nice display. cory are good bottom feeders, and ottos are AWSOME for algea...both prefer to be in small schools so get at least 3 if possible!

hmmm... not to sure adding any other fish would work.
But, you could get one of those betta barracks that you hang on the side of the tank and put the betta in there.
Then you can add lots of other fish and none of them will get harmed.

angels and neons would be fine. any non aggressive tropical fish would work with him. if your not sure which are not aggressive , the clerk at any good pet store will know. just ask.
