Hi guys
I bought corals today and forgot to ask what to do before putting them into my tank
I know for a fact that I can put them into my tropical tank, as well that I have to watch my ph levels more closely now because they cause them to go up
I just want to know if I'm suppose to wash them with cold or warm water before I put them into my tank, or if I even have to leave them in a waterbath over night (no soap will ever be used)
Every answer is greatly apprecciated
Thanks
EB

I recently posted a message regarding what I thought was a fresh water puffer that passed suddenly, thanks for all the responses - it was appreciated and I learned a lot. I also learned that I was badly informed. I am hoping someone here can confirm that it would be okay to add some dwarf fresh water puffers into my tank with a mixed population. In the past I have had pretty good luck in adding fish. My tank is well established. I have set up a separate tank for my more aggressive fish like my balas, tiger, albino, and green barbs. In this tank I have 3 gouramis, 3 long fin barbs, two platys. Can I add some fresh water dwarf puffers to the mix? I am having a hard time finding anything on anything but the brackish water puffers. The pet store said it should be fine, what do you experts think?

I have 7 neon tetras, 3 spotted corydora catfish, a pleco, a pearlscale goldfish, and a red caped oranda goldfish. I also have a betta but he had to be removed from the tank because I bought a gourami that he attacked. The gourami is netted in my tank currently because he attacks the pearlscale and I am getting another tank tomorrow to put him in. ANYWAY I was wondering if there were any other SMALL colorful fish that would go along with the fish I have. I may also try putting my betta back in the tank after the gourami is out to see if he will be ok with the goldfish do you think they will get along or no? The pearlscale is yellow and the red cap is just white and red is this to colorful with the betta? thanks for the help!

I have a Tetra that has only pectoral fin (I think that is the correct fin). We think that another one of the Tetras nibbled off the other. He has been like this for months now. Because of that, he is smaller in size, swims (floats) almost upright, and has a spine that is shaped almost like an elongated 'S' shape. He does eat whenever fed and constantly strives to keep himself afloat. Still, I don't know whether or not it is better to put him out of his misery or to let him keep on living. The animal lover in me wants to let him live as he eats and seems like a definite fighter. Still, I always question whether it is better to take measures and put him out of his misery. Any pros and cons to keeping him alive?

The patch is poking out in the middle, and the goldfish looks like it's gonna pop. The patch is clear/white. What is it, and how do I fix it??? Is it normal, or fatal? PLEASE ANSWER! I don't know what to DO. The fish is at LEAST 5 years old. Maybe more.

I have two tiger barbs and three red glass barbs in a ten gallon.

I had three, but one died yesterday.

Would it be safe to add three more in about two weeks? They wouldn't start to nip at the red barbs would they? The red barbs are much bigger than the tigers.

The red barbs are about 1.5 inches each, and the tigers are about .5 inches each.

I have a 28 gallon established tank with an algae eater, several Mollies and a few small platies. I really want a goldfish, but I am not sure if it would do well with my other fish. Even the small goldies seem so much bigger than my other fish, especially my platies.

Is it okay to have them in the same tank, or should I just settle for my pretty little gold lyre tail mollies?

I have a hose on the top of the tank that shoots water into it, the guppy's always go under it and shoot straight down to the bottom and go back up. My swordtail's don't do it just my guppy's is this normal?

Other than that they always chase each other, it does not look like they are nipping so I am not that worried but still is that normal to?
