I have a hose on the top of the tank that shoots water into it, the guppy's always go under it and shoot straight down to the bottom and go back up. My swordtail's don't do it just my guppy's is this normal?

Other than that they always chase each other, it does not look like they are nipping so I am not that worried but still is that normal to?

It's not too unusual for fish to "ride the current" where a hose or a filter returns water to the tank. Why they do it is open to debate, but it's fairly common, especially among fish found in flowing waters in nature, such as guppies.

Well, guppies are not exactly the smartest fish in the world (I keep some myself) but they are very active and playful if not nippy ateachother. I think it is either stupidity of the guppies or they are just playing in the current. I have other kinds of fish that seem to like to do this such as certain tetras and cichlids. They like to hang out under the water that is pouring in when I do water changes and some just love to swm in the bubbles or be swept away by the current of my powerhead. I think they are just having fun.

they are just having fun. My guppies wil go under where my filter puts the water back in the tank and get caught up in the current and my betta and guppies like to swim through all the bubbles my air stone makes.
