I just bought a tank and it did not come with a book on how to take care of fish. It pisses me off. And the walmart company makes the tank. They try to hide under the name Aqua Culture.
The tank is great though.

ok first of all do you think regal tangs(like dory) and clownfish(like nemo) will get along if u put them together in a tank? Because the clownfish is way small will it get eaten by the regal tang? and also i saw this little fish that was half purple and half yellow about half an inch long. does anyone know what that is called? and also does anyone know what a very small fish is called that is red white and blue? (i saw them at the pet store, but some didnt have names on the tanks.) thats what color they looked anyone. and are all tanks REALLY expensive? also do all tanks need filtration and pumps and all that jazz because that seems like alot of work for just a couple of fish. does anyone know if the fish listed above will get along? or will the fight or eat each other? anyone know any small fish that get along(different species) and that coluld be kept together in a small tank?

people always ask how 2 cure ich but wat is it and how does it look like cause i think my betta may have but not sure

I have a betta, and in order to clean his tank, I usually just scoop him out with a net and put him into a bowl. However, today, instead of going into the bowl as usual, he fell straight onto the floor (a 3 foot drop). He layed there, completely motionless. I put him in the bowl, but he didn't move for quite a while unless I coaxed him. Now, about 30 minutes later, he seems to be doing okay. I do believe he went into shock before.

My question is, how do I prevent this from happening? How do I effectively get him into the bowl as safely as possible? I don't want this to happen to him again- he has great sentimental value to me (my grandmother had him, and she passed away a few months ago).

Any educated answer would be greatly appreciated.

My Black Moore has one gill that has curled up a little and there is a flap of white behind it. It looks like a soft piece of skin that flows with the gill. He/she is swimming fine and is eating and pooping like a very healthy goldfish does. I put an anit-bacterial remedy for swollen gills in there just in case, but he is the only one that has this.He is in a 55 gallon tank that has adequate filtration, plus airation and weekly water changes. The ammonia level checks out good and the ph is about 7.0 and has been since I stabalized the tank 4 months ago. I've had him for about a year and he is my favorite fish out of all my tanks and I would hate to lose him. Please help.

some of the guppies are pure fancy guppies, but most of them are mixed with the feeder kind. Even so, they still have pretty colors like a fancy, only they're a bit more gray and smaller.

I have a Crowntail Betta who has this huge white puffy growth on his dorsal fin. It pretty much ate up his fin by now. I've been medicating him with MelaFix, Maracyn, TC, BettaFix (not all at once) and nothing seems to get rid of it. I have him in a 1/2 gal tank and change the water every week. I use aquarium salt at each water change and also use water conditioner along with poland spring water. The MelaFix seems to shrink the thing down a bit but never fully gets rid of it. Sometimes it looks red and sometimes parts of it falls off. My Betta still has a huge appetite and makes his bubble nest but he's not as active. Please help...I want to fix him and save his life but don't know what to do.

I also have another Crowntail Betta and his fins just seem to keep disappearing. I medicate him with the same meds but nothing seems to help him either. Is it something internal that I can't do anything about?

I just bought a 10 gallon tank with a fliter and everything and i was wondering what you think would look better. It has a yellow light. I may change the light to blue though. I cant decide which because on the box it shows plants, but my cousins has a huge hollow tree that lies down. If i were to get a huge ornament it would cost 20 dollars. If i got plants it would cost under 10. If i get plants i will also get mini ornaments. Like right now i have a sand castle. BTW would you reccomend plastic or real plants. Thank You
