I have a Crowntail Betta who has this huge white puffy growth on his dorsal fin. It pretty much ate up his fin by now. I've been medicating him with MelaFix, Maracyn, TC, BettaFix (not all at once) and nothing seems to get rid of it. I have him in a 1/2 gal tank and change the water every week. I use aquarium salt at each water change and also use water conditioner along with poland spring water. The MelaFix seems to shrink the thing down a bit but never fully gets rid of it. Sometimes it looks red and sometimes parts of it falls off. My Betta still has a huge appetite and makes his bubble nest but he's not as active. Please help...I want to fix him and save his life but don't know what to do.

I also have another Crowntail Betta and his fins just seem to keep disappearing. I medicate him with the same meds but nothing seems to help him either. Is it something internal that I can't do anything about?

Thee are a few possibilities, but considering what you have treated the fish with and the results you have seen, I think you have a fungus and the Melafix just isn't strong enough to completely cure the problem. I would suggest you try a stronger fungus medication with as Maroxy.

a 15 gallon tank ought to hold approximately 3 or 4 fish ideally. you should purely positioned one million male Betta fish in a tank with the aid of fact they're fairly territorial and could combat one yet another to the dying. in case you want greater effective than one fish in the tank, i will advise getting a pair of Betta like minded fish which includes mollies, neon tetras, woman guppies, some styles of algae eaters, etc. My betta eats blood-worms that i offered on the puppy keep, and pondering you purely feed them 4 or 5 blood-worms once or twice an afternoon, it takes a at the same time as earlier you should purchase greater. they're VERY advise to a minimum of one yet another!!! My betta survived 4 journeys that lasted 2 hours (Going from domicile to dorm for college on holiday journeys) so I see no reason as to why yours does no longer. sturdy success! :)
