i got rubber lip placo and his under my rock for about 2 months now, how can i get him to start sucking on algea or at least to change a spot.( yes, hes a live ) hes so nice i hate to see him hiding.

i bought a male betta and a female but the male one just keeps on fighting with the female betta and i don't know what to do ? why is that and why they can't get along? i thought they will make little baby fishes but i guess not hehehe . sorry i am so ignorant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

My classroom has a new class pet, 2 goldfish in a 10 gallon tank. A classmate said that they will eat shrimp and snails that are in the tank. Will they? Also, I tried to tell them that snails and shrimp are warm water, but they won't listen.

my molly is pregnant. She has been huge for two days now when we got her two days ago. She is not laying her eggs and she looks like she's about to explode. I'm concerned that there's something wrong with her because when i bought her she was the same size and her eggs are no where to be found if she laid any. She is in a net breeder but there's no eggs and there is no differrence in her stomach size!!

ok this might sound silly but i truely don't know the answer.

uhmm i bought 2 females fighting fishes and planning to give them to my girlfriend.

They are still both in the plastic bag which is haft way water and haft air. ( you know what i mean, they are still in the condition that the pet store owner gave me )

i would like to give it to my girlfriend 8 hours later.

Do you guys think that the fishes will live by then? or do i need to put them in the tank 1st and drop them back in the plastic bag again when i give it to her?

How long do they live for? ( in the plastic bag ) sorry i'm very new at this.

I hope you guys would help me >_< thanks in advance

my male beta started making a bubble nest, but he won't mate with the female in the tank with him. the female hides in the corner, and the male just stays over in his corner building a nest. why won't they mate? the male and female have been in the same tank for about 2 - 3 days now. no fights whatsoever.

I have 55 gal tank, but i only 6 fish 2 inch big in it. I like to buy 5 draft puffers, i even got a little spot set up for them in my tant with lots of plants, you know so they can hide, do you think that my semi-aggresive fish will harm puffers?

Okay, I've had my betta 4 3 and a half weeks and i started out by feeding him 6 betta bites in the morning. This past week, ive been giving him 6 pellets in the morning nd a frozen bloodworm @ night nd idk if its my imagination but he's starting 2 get a little chubby. Idk if its my imagination or what. is this the proper amount of food, am i doing anything wrong? Please provide pics of how chubby a betta should and should not be. THANX!

i think my betta has fin rot. its tail started turning white and then it turned black and eventualy half of it fell of. now its body is turning white and its other fins too. is it fin rot? and how do i treat it? im pretty sure i keep the water clean but every time i put a conditioner in (only 2 times) right after it, there was a fin rot problem. i put it in last week and thats when this happened, i dont use conditioner other times because i use fresh water. what happened?

i had a water dog in the 6th grade, it died and it has been several years since i've seen them around.my friend heard they were illegal. is this true?

One was messed up from the start and died in two days, another died a little after we changed 10% of the water. Two more died when we left for the weekend even though we put a weekend feeder in, all my 7 neon tetras lived through the weekend. That leaves me with one more which died a couple days later. I have no idea why they died, and I have checked everything from water hardness to ph. This is my first expirience with an aquarium, and I have a 20 gallon aquarium. Can somebody please shed some light on this?

I am going to set up either a 20 or 30 gallon saltwater tank and I have a few questions. Do I need a protein skimmer or can I get by without one? I will just have fish to start with, but later I would like to add some live rock.
Also, will a power filter work or would it suck up the sand?
