Fish are often shipped from over seas in small bags, especially bettas. I personally have seen bettas live in a small bag for 6-7 days. If it's even a medium sized bag they should be just fine.

Depending on how you bag the fish, they can last a while. If you give the bag enough "air" inside the bag then it'll last longer and there will be ebtter oxegen exchange. If theres no air, then a fish wont last as long. Of couse there are differnt kinds of bags like kordon breather bags that alow for oxegen exchange through the bag. When a breeder or something ships fish, they shouldnt feed the fish for a day or two so there are no nitrites in the water to kill them.

There's only so much oxygen in the bag. Betta need a fresh air source, just undo the rubber band on the bags and put the whole bag in a cup or tupperwear container so the water doesn't spill. Bettas have lungs so they'll go up to the surface to breath. Close the bag up to transport them when you're ready.

The way professionals can keep fish alive in plastic bags for many days is that they fill the bags with water and oxygen, not just water and air. Water and air will support them for a matter of hours, not days.

Fish can live for about two days in a plastic bag, but it would make them happy if you opened the bag a tine bit if they are just sitting around right now.
They will be fine for 8 hours.

The fish will not survive in a plastic bag for 8 hrs, maybe they'll survive for around 1 hr. You need to put them in a tank & then put them back in a bag just before you give them to her. I hope your not planning on having these fish in the same tank together - fighting fish cannot be in the same tank or they will kill eachother - only 1 per tank.

I've been in this position lol, nd to cause minimum stress (so by the next morning the fish won't be dead) then no more than 3 hours 4 at a maximum. If you out them in gthe tank first it would be better.

if the local fish store put some oxygen into the bag you are perfectly fine. they only thing that you will need to worry about is making sure that the temperature of the bag will not fluctuate too much. although bettas are very hardy, they are still susceptible to stress.

You should be good for many hours, maybe a day or so. We've had ours un a bag for the best part of a day while we set up the tank and stuff, no harm.

When they are captured in the wild, they can generally live 1-2 weeks in the bag. I suspect it's a non-issue for you.
