Fish - April 2007

Ok so i have 2 males guppies and 2 females and then 15-20 babies.. and of course my females are pregnant again!! Which is what i wanted but what do i do with the babies? I dont want to send them to heaven...
will pet shops buy them for like 5c each or something? Or in exchange for fish food? (I'm in sydney Australia)

I let my water cycle with the filter on for about 6 days and then added my heater for one day, then the next day i added my 2 pink kissing gouramis and my air pump.
i got them yesterday and i noticed yesterday and today the water was getting a bit murky.
If a gave the tank a clean would it stress the fish coz its only been in there for 1 day?
how often do they do their business, because mine sorta seemed to poop quite alot maybe 1 or 2 times a day?
and i think this was causing the murkiness.
I dont fink its constipation (which is caused by bad quality water) coz thats when the belly bloats and doesn't poop right?
What should i do, is it coz i should have cleaned the tank while the process of water cycling?, but i was supposed to leave it when the water was cycling right?

Please answer soon!!!
The water seems greenish/yellowish, cloudish, murkish
In other words the water doesn't look very clean and clear.

I'm having a problem with my fish over and over. i have had a lot of fish in the past. but they all seem to die (yes i know they aren't immortal) and it always seems to happen the same way. they start to float more than swim, and wobble. they can't keep themselves upright. and then evenutally they sink to the bottom on their side. i use to work in a fish store, a long time ago, and i have never been able to answer this. maybe someone out there knows, or has some kind of idea. thank you.

I'm keeping 2 fishes that look like Inlecypris auropurpurea.
The fishes are silvery with blue strips from the gills to the tail.
The fins are off white with red at the end of tips. They're fast & aggressive fishes in my tank. What's the different between
Danio & Devario species? How do I identify my fish, is it a cross bred? I think they either from Mymar or Burma?
I like to thank whoever could answer my questions.

In my large tank, I have 3 fantails and a Black Moor. I feed them daily with general flake food. However, because apparently Black Moors have bad eyesight. It often doesn't realise that there is food floating. So what generally happens is the other goldfish eat all the food before the Black Moor has a chance of realising. Is it possible to monitor how much each fish is getting. Should I use sinking pellets or separate them?

I was researching on my kissing gouramis the other day and found that on yo utube there was a video of a kissing gourami that is sorta hand tamed and follows the owners hand.
Is there a way of training this?

k i've follow the advice that people told me to do at the last quest.that i've asked.They grow more,some of my guppies start to get the vlack on their tails.and the other just get darker in colors.i've bruoght some live plant to put it in(and i want them to eat the plant to (as the diet)i never crus the food for them since their first week,and they ok with it,the tem.is hight the light is 24/7,clean water.some of them is 1cm in leng.(or about)some are more.so when should i put them with the parent?all the fries are fine looking ,so i dont have to cull them,is that ok?once i read on the internet people said that if you dont feed the guppy fries brim shrim thet wont grow bigger and never get all their full colors,is that true?And the mama of those platies just die(if you read my last quest.you'll know what im talking)all of the guppies is ok nowi dint even do anything.it like each time somefish in the aquarium have babies they alway do that.my female betta now is ready to breed.thank u.

I just got a new male Betta fish from Petco, and the salesperson told me to change the water every week and feed it once a day about 3 little balls of food. and also, he said i should keep it in a fish bowl and fill it up with water as high as possible.Is this information correct? On the thing that i got the fish in it says to change the water with unbleached or sspring water. would that be like regular drinking water (water bottles)? any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Well... I don't have the 5 gallon tank yet, but I am getting it tomorrow. I am NOT a beginner! I already have an 18 gallon tank. I just don't know what dwarf gouramis to put in my tank.... yes, I know the tank is small... but it's all I can afford right now. I was thinking of moving my sunset coral dwarf platies because someone told me they carry a lot of disease.. We've had a total of 4 silver tips and they all have died within a few days, can anyone tell me what is the deal with these fish. All the other fish in the tank have lived longer than the silver tips, they are a very exciting species of fish and they are gorgeous it's just that they don't live at least not in our tank.

He has 4 short, black whiskers, not the long white fine whiskers like I saw at the pet store. The stripes go from right behind his totally black head to the beginning of his totally black tail. He's kinda bug eyed. I can't get him to be still long enough for a pic.
