I am looking at keeping a fish, and have picked out what fish I want, but I can't tell what size tank I need. I am considering a biorb, but I don't know if it is appropriate. I want a slightly smaller tank, around maybe 15-20 gal. Plant recommendations and general advice on my choices also appreciated. Thanks

I have just recently set up a tropical aquarium, and currently have 4 neons and 4 penguin tetras. I was told in the shop that you can't mix diferent types i.e. tetras and livebearers or barbs. Is this true, as I would like to put some guppies in there.

i have a betta fish(male) and a tiny snail, about the size of a piece of gravel. he was moving around fine a few days ago, although he had climbed around above water level, so i nudged him bakc in the tank a little. however, i haven't seen him move in 3 or 4 days, and he used to move around all the time!! he's not stuck to anything, just kind of sitting there. i don't know if my betta ate him maybe, or is he dormant, or did he just die randomly? i was thinking maybe my betta ate him, because my betta will eat the leftover food out of the gravel sometime and i'm thinking maybe he got hold of the snail...any ideas?

I've done some extensive research and still need some help. I'll start with the overall situation.
I usually keep each of my bettas in at least a 1 gallon container with plenty of planty hiding places, I use some live and some fake. I do frequent waterchanges and about once a month I remove the fish and wash all the plants and glass pebbles to prevent harmful bacteria and waste build up.
The temperature never does anything extreme and My bettas have always been active enough. Before 2 weeks ago I had never in 5 years of bettas, had to deal with a sick fish.
I'm pretty sure my Female has a fungus in her gills, after treatments and warmer water the white fuzzy spots near her eyes dissapeard and the fuzz I saw emerging from her gills is almost unnoticable. her "breathing" is very labored and she's become lathargic and will not eat. And the reall challenge here is that she's also FAT with eggs. I think her stress from a spawn attempt caused the outbreak, the male had it too and is fine.

I looked at my tank this morning and I realized it needs some cleaning, I've had it for about a month but haven't cleaned the gravel yet. It's a 10g tank with 4 Zebras, 2 Serpae Tetras, 1 Tiger Barb, and 1 Algae Eater. Should I go and get a vacuum or a undergravel filter?

i have a 90L tank with a variety of tropical fish: small knife fish, small elephant nose, a couple of gourami, tetra and two guppies.

One of my 2 remaining guppies (he recently survived a minor tank disaster when i killed all the bacteria) is slowly loosing his tail.. it looks like its being eaten???

All my other fish seem happy.. and the other guppy looks ok not sure whats going on.. Is there anything i can do to help him survive?

:)
ps. we also have ok pH/ ammonia/nitrate/nitrite

any advice?

we took it apart because we saw a little leak so we decided to remove all the glue tha binds the glass together. What can I use to put it back together? It can't kill the fish though.
