Raising the heat lamp will be okay, but the lamp should be something that doesn't give off visible light (at least a moon glo, red heat lamp or CHE, if you used these with your boa). Depending on what fish you have in your other tanks, you might just want to move the betta. They get along with most other tropicals, but shouldn't be kept with any boisterous fish or fin-nippers.

It would give you one less tank to clean as well!

Do you have a light fixture you can suspend from the ceiling or something cuz you could always lift your heat bulb up higher, or you can buy the right size heater.... good luck.. most people don't heat their betta tanks "good job"

If your tank isn't hot enough you could gradually turn your heater up a bit but make sure you monitor the temperature with a thermometer so you don't fry your fish.
