He has 4 short, black whiskers, not the long white fine whiskers like I saw at the pet store. The stripes go from right behind his totally black head to the beginning of his totally black tail. He's kinda bug eyed. I can't get him to be still long enough for a pic.

Pictus are spotted. He is black with turquoise blue on his sides and black stripes. No spots on him of any kind.

Look into a 4 lined Pictus. Not all Pictus have spots. They would be Pimelod family. Otherwise sounds like a Syno Pleurops(spelling?) but the color would be wrong.

I went back to look at your previous question, and had a few of my own. Do you have a blue background or gravel that might be reflected in his coloring? Is this a freshwater fish?

I'm thinking you might have an iridescent shark if this is freshwater - these are silvery-gray when young, but can reflect the colors around them. I'll link to a couple of photos, one showing an iridescent in a blue tank, and one showing the barbels (whiskers):

The photo with the whiskers shows an adult - they get darker with age. Here's more info on them: http://www.aquariacentral.com/species/db.cgi?db=fresh&uid=default&ID=0207&view_records=1

If this isn't what you have, just add more info to this question - there's no need to post another question. I'll be back and take a look in a little while to see if there's more info.
