Hello... I finally have 3 nickel size angelfish that survived and are now in the 120 gallon tank. Then this morning I looked at my black angelfish and noticed a thin white film on large portions of his body. He is still swimming fine and has a healthy appetite. The other angels and other fish in the tank do not seem to have this film on them that I can tell.

Anyone know if it is a type of fungus or something else and how can I make it go away??

I'll check back in about 15 minutes to see if I need to add any details to help diagnos what is wrong with him.
Thank you in advance.

ok so my fish have ick/ich.
ive given them 4 treatments now (its called fish saver)
and its meant to cure ick/ich!
problem is i dont see a change!
i havent turned my filter off while ive been treating the fish.
i have a fluval 3 filter, and i took the black sponge out!
people keep telling me that i need to take the filter media out otherwise the treatment isnt goin to work.
what is the filter media?
do i have to take the two white sponges out aswell?
should i just turn the filter off full stop untill ive finished treating my fish?
please help as my other loach died today, and i dont want any of my other fish dying too!!!
thanks

Hi! I have high ph levels (right about 8) and I have a community 55 gallon tank, with gouramis, plattys, zebra danios, a red-tailed shark, pleco, and a cory cat, so far.

I need to know what other kinds of fish would be good in this tank with the ph so high. I'd like to have some other (obvious) kinds like sword tails, neons, tetras, angels, loaches, catfish like fish, sharks, etc. I don't want anything huge, but I do want colorful or odd shaped. (And don't say hatchet-fish - they're jumpers! lol) I was looking at a bala shark, I know they get big, but would they eat my zebras? Would a few female bettas live okay in a comminity tank, with moderate current, or do the females prefer the still water too? My male hated it in there...

I guess my real question is, What kinds of fish WOULD NOT survive in the ph so high??? What kinds of fish are considered "Delicate" other than a discus? As far as I know everything else tested ok.

Thank you in advanced for your answers and your help.

So I live in South FL and have 2 tanks (a 10gallon and a 65gallon) very happy and well set up. But I had never thought about how to protect them in case of a hurricane. When a hurricane threatens, I usually go up north with my cat and my bird, but what do I do with the fishies? Also, the power goes out in my area, every time a hurricane comes, so the filter wouldn't be working for at least two days until I can come back and connect it to a generator. Any ideas, I'm kinda clueless here. Thanks

i have 4 cherry barbs, there only the size of my neons.
i thought they were babys and would grow alot bigger than this, but now im not so sure, as a couple of them look pregnant. they have rather fat rounded bellys.
are they pregnant?
do they grow much bigger?
if there babys then can baby fish have babys?
how can you tell the sex of a cherry barb?
thanks

ive had my male betta for about 2months now, i use to have him in a small tank with a mollie and dwarf gourami. until i upgraded to a much bigger tank!
anyway, ive had a outbreak of ick/ich in my new tank, but my male betta doesnt seem to have any white spots on him. hes been acting really strange tho, the last four days his been hiding in the driftwood i have in my tank, i thought he was dead bcuz i hadnt seen him for days but yday he came swiming up for air and then went straight back to hiding. but he looked ruff, and i mean ruff, he had lost all his colour around the chin area (not sure if they have chins but u catch my drift lol) he had aslo lost a couple of spots of colour on his head, and he really didnt look happy in the eyes! whats wrong with him? do you think he may be dying? please help thanks

My fish got stuck under the filter intake when I was changing his water. He now has a cut that bled some. Should I quarantine him from his tank mates and start antibiotics?
