I am new to owning fish and just recently got three tiger barbs and 3 otos for my 10g tank. I recenlty did a 25% water change yesterday and today I found that there was a rise in ammonia .5. I just want to know if the ammonia from the fish will be toxic to me I have them in my bedroom. I would appreciate any help, thanks!

Also can I add another mollie? Do they get along well together? Should I try and get a male or female?

I've heard that some people raise Tilapia and other fish in aquaria that they harvest after a few years to eat. Does anyone know anything about what fish are appropriate and the volume of the tank necessary? What about conditions in the water? Is this safe?

Hi I checked on Ariel my Red Comet Goldfish and I noticed half of her tail fell off. She was very hyper yesterday and she still had her tail. and also my other Goldfish was hyper smashing into the Glass,Diving and banging himself against the bottom of the tank. He doesn't stop so I have to put a net around him so that he will calm down. Could he be territorial and maybe tore off Ariels tail?

I'm getting my bf a betta fish for valentines day. he's gonna be in a small glass bowl (like a goldfish one) and I'm thinking about putting a real plant in there cuz i heard it gives the fish food. do you think the fish will be ok and last long? I also heard it's good to have a heater but is it necessary? and one last question, is there any specific kind of plant I should put in there?

When I change the water in my Aquarium, would it be better to buy Distilled Water in Gallon Jugs rather than use Tap Water from my kitchen facuet? I only have a Ten Gallon aquarium, so I do not have to do this very often.
