I have no idea what is going on with one of my comet goldfish, It's fins are clamped and it is not swimming as fast as it does compare to normal. (I just had water change yesterday and I think the water quality is not so bad ) Please tell me what to do. Thanks

DO ANY OF YOU GUYS KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT NEON TETRA FISH? IF SOMEONE CAN FIN OUT HOW THERE BODIES ARE CONSTRUCTED THAT WOULD BE GREAT? ALSO THERE ORIGIN, AND THERE MAXIMUM LIFE SPAN.

I should have known bettter, but I bought a large plastic tank rock that I planned to trade out with my driftwood so that I could put the wood in the sun to help prevent algae buildup. After I put the plastic rock in, my loaches (6 and 4 inches) started having knicks and scratches on them (they were going inside) I started trying to catch them both "out", but could not. Today I noticed a rather large knick and decided to get the other out. I had to break the edge of the rock w/a hammer and managed to get him out - throughly traumitized! The inside of the rock is covered in jagged edges! I am angry and want to take the rock back to petsmart and give the manager specific intructions about what they can do with this cave of knives! I paid $39!

My question is - what I should do about petsmart? Should I ask for my money back? I paid with credit card, probably no receipt. I think I am prepared to take care of any complications with my fish, but with fish, who knows?

Has anyone ever heard of a plecostomus catfish that will eat krill? Mine does. I know there's nothing wrong with it, I was just wondering if this is a common thing. None of the sites I have found mention them eating anything other than veggies and algae.

I have a current usa retrofit ballast with square pins. Its rated for 32 watt. bulbs. The only ones I can get are dual daylight from current usa. Can I put a bulb rated for a higher wattage in the ballast & have it work at 32 watts?

My local store has some really pimp looking custom sea life 5000k plant bulbs, but they're in 55 watt model only. That & I have to special order the oddball 32 watt bulbs.

Will it catch on fire or what?

Okay, as before stated I have a 55 gallon, I cycled it until it was good on all my various tests. I then moved all of my fish one at a time, and slowly acclimated them one everty 8 hours (mostly because a friend of mine said it was safer to add one fish at a time and I've never done a mass exodus from one tank to another before).

So anyway, righ tbefore I began the move, I tested the recieving tank and the tank I was moving them from and everything was fine. I didn't stop caring for the tank they were being moved from, I even changed the filter cartridge on time for the month. But once they were all moved, and I doing my normal testing rotuine today, I forgot I didnt need to test that tank and did. It tested extremely high for nirates and nitrites. There have been no fish in it for nearly 2 days, filter has been running the entire time?

I need to clean my fish tank with a siphon and I was wondering about the removal of fish. I have seperate containers I could put them in but I heard that could kill them. I have 4 baby frogs and they are VERY small. They stay on the bottom of the tank mostly and I'm afraid that if I am siphoning I could suck them up or hurt them.I also would like to know if it is ok to clean the filter then same day that I clean the tank. I heard that you should wait a day. Is that true?

Hi. I have a male betta that I bought a week ago with no symptoms. I noticed yesterday 2 scales seem to be missing and now today a few more. It eats normally and is very active. Is it early stages of an illness or is it old age? 2 missing are on the top and the rest are confined to one side. Its fins are perfect do I do not believe its tail rot or ich. Anyone with insight and a solution I would be grateful. Other notes, betta is in an aquarium, heated, water clean, live plants, fed flake, live brine shrimp and dried tubiflex. Thanks in advance.

My betta fish "sleeps" by laying on the shells in the tank for a whole day. He shows little activity and looks dead until you tap on the tank or start feeding (then he leaps). I am worried that maybe something is wrong due to his lack of activity. Are their any toys for betta fish to keep them occupied?

I just bought my first Anemone and am not sure if I can touch it. I heard they sting but do they sting humans for just fish? Are they poisonous to humans? I am very allergic to bee stings so will they hurt me? The guy at the fish store said they do sting but he can’t feel them anymore because he is used to it. Am I ok to pick it up and put it where I want it to be? Thanks

I have been looking for this type of aquarium for years. I bought a few at Woolworth's back when I was a kid in the sixties and have seen them from time to time but not since the eighties at least. Does anybody know if anyone still makes them and who?
