The only reason you are supposed to remove the shell before you feed them is because it is harder to digest. So no your fish won't die from it but it won't clean out its system like it would if the pea had the shell taken off first. Just next time remember to remove it.

I have a large 8" comet and shubunkin in my pond and I give them whole, frozen peas with the shell on all the time because they can eat them whole and they can digest the skin easily enough. The deal with taking the shell off and maybe mashing the pea is because little mouths can't eat the whole pea and so they need to take "bites" and they can't with the shell on and also because their little systems couldn't digest the shell even if they could eat it. If the fish is big enough to eat the pea whole, it shouldn't be a problem, but it is always better to err on the side of caution and, if you have any concerns, remove the shells. Remember, for bloat, the first thing you need to do is to fast the fish for three days before feeding peas. Good luck!

Leaving the shell on won't hurt her, she just won't be able to get to the soft inner pea that might help her with constipation. Just remove the pea and either deshell it and put the soft inner part back into the tank, or else get another pea, shell it and put it in the tank. No biggie, but don't leave the shelled pea sitting in the tank for a long time since it will start to pollute the tank. If she is noticably bloated big, it might not simply be constipation. But try the pea (without shell) first.

initially, do no longer quite have confidence that somebody at Walmart is accustomed to what they're talking approximately (or any puppy shop, quite, they typically in simple terms employ random babies). do slightly study your self on the internet. Secondly, the only element that would proceed to exist in a bowl (word: i did no longer say thrive) is a betta, simply by fact they have a particular organ that enables them to respire from the air. i do no longer consider conserving even a betta in a bowl, although. Their lifespan will certainly be shortened by employing it. the different fish, goldfish blanketed, will die rapidly in a bowl. and not employing a filter out, they are no longer getting adequate oxygen in a bowl. and not employing a heater, the water temperature might no longer be astounding (fish want a undeniable temperature variety to stay, counting on the species). And with one in each and every of those small volume of water, the water gets so grimy so rapidly that they are poisoned of their own waste. Bowls do in simple terms no longer paintings.

The shell is hard to get through for a small fish. it can't hurt. It's easier for the fish to eat if you take the shell off, but if yoru fish ate it them dont worry.

It will be fine. If the fish is bloating I suggest you look up dropsy symptoms and treatments.

nope it won't hurt her -- smaller goldfish can't eat through the shell -- that is why you remove it for them. i have to cut them up for my little goldfish.
