Fish - February 2007

I have a 20 gallon tank and im going to make it into a saltwater tank( I have done lots of research and there are saltwater fish and invertebrates that can be kept in a 20 gallon tank). I want to know which fish and invertebrates are the best for a reef aquarium. Some that are not agressive.I want some that are hardy. Also they have to be ones that are not too hard to care for(begginer).

I have the fish for nearly two years, so I know it's old, but it has been acting rather droopy in the last few months. And our room temp has gone down since it's so cold out and I just didn't know if that made it's water too cold or not. I just don't want it to be uncomfortable.

i have two African clawed frogs and am trying to decide weather to get an algea eater or a catfish which would be better for the upkeep of the tank i am not planning on putting any gravel in the tank due to the fact the frogs will eat it and get sick i like algea eaters but if a catfish would be better i will get one of those currently i dont have either please suggest and give reasons so i can be informed

yesterday evening i added a male and a female guppy. this morning i noticed that misfit, my betta, was lurking around in the plants on the bottom of the tank. when feeding time came around, all the others ate and he just sat there. ive seen him rise for air twice that i was aware of, but he didnt eat. my betta is normally a very active healthy eating fish.

I got home this morning and there was a solid layer of bubbles covering the surface of my fishtank. I havent added anything except stress coat. Why are there so many bubbles? What can I do to get rid of it?

I currently have 2 female bettas. Right now they are both in seperate bowls and my plan was to put them in a 10 gallon together. Then I heard that if you only have two they will fight/kill each other. Is this true? If I had three do you think this would be a stable number for them to get along?

Some of them have started to lose their pigment. Theres one thats already all white and some with spots. It's not ick or some skin fungus. Theres nothing growing on it. Their scales are clean and look normal, It's like they turned into a albino. I may add that they are all healthy, active and eat just like the other ones. The pond is suppied have a 2-filter system pump and 2 10 in. bubblers.

I have a betta fish that lives in a 20gallon tank by himself. There are lots of plastic plants and a rock. The tank also has a heater, filter, air bubbler etc. recently we have noticed that his fins are shrinking, splitting and getting holes in them. We thought it may be fin rot so we are currently giving him medication for that. We have about 3 days left with the medication. If it is not fin rot, what is it?
