Your question is a bit unclear. If you are speaking about the differences of keeping goldfish in a bowl or a tank, yes, a tank is a much better option. Think of it as yourself staying in a studio apartment and a 2 bedroom/hall apartment, and you shall feel what difference it may make.
Moreover, if you are serious about aquatics and fish keeping as a hobby, you better forget the concept of keeping and getting things for "free" and then only act or decide on the future course of action, because not only that fish keeping is an expensive hobby if you would properly like to do it, but also because you should love it as a hobby and not just as time pass. Care and time is necessary for fishes as pet's as much as like dogs cats or any other live-hobby.

A 10 gallon tank is too small for goldfish to live healthy lives. Goldfish release toxins through digestion and respiration and they poison the water in small tanks. You need a filter and a test kit for the water. Do not add an algae eater in a 10 gallon and do not keep them with goldfish. They get too large for a 10 gallon and they also love eating goldfish. You should really just get some small tetras for this tank.

they actually live longer because if you have the filter, it will make things easy for you and the fish. But a warning: make sure that the tank has at least 2 goldfish it will be lonely. and make sure they won't have babies. Tehy can get sucked into the filter and die.

In terms of fish, golfish have little to no stomachs so in essence they are one of natures "dirtiest" fish. Keeping them in a tank that has filtration is MUCH better on them than keeping them in a non-filtered bowl or tank. Even just the 10 gallon size will be great for a goldfish because more water takes longer to get toxic. Also, goldfish grow to the size of their surroundings so your fish might get bigger! I have 2 rescued feeder gold fish that were tiny when i got them and even now, in a 3 gallon tank they are both over 2 inches long. I saw a feeder goldfish some guy threw in a fish pond about 7 years ago. That thing is as big as a carp! Good luck!

betta in a filtered tank - 2 1/2 years

10 gallons is a much better space for a goldfish than a bowl. if you have 1 you can get another goldfish but you have to do a partial cleaning every week. with a gravel vacuum clean all the stuff out of the gravel you can get while you empty about 1/3 of the water. then refill with clean water. if you don't this regualarly they will be fine. don't think because its a bigger space you can get away with more goldfish -- they grow fast!

the more space they have to swim around; makes them happy and less stressed. and by having a big tank your fish will live longer, however it is harder to clean the tank when it's of that size.

Yes. You should have a filter that puts bubbles in the tank, and have an algae eater to keep the tank clean.
