Compatible cleaning fish for a coldwater aquarium are dojos, apple snails, rubbernose plecos, bristlenose pleco, hillstream loach and dwarf otocinclus. Their lowest tolerable temperature just falls within reach of the coldwater spectrum.

How big is your tank? Most algae eaters need a large tank. If you have goldfish you can forget about any sucker fish. Goldfish are a favorite food of sucker fish. Nothing eats fish waste either, so if that's what you want cleaned you will have to do so with a gravel vac.

an applensial or a mystery snail....only one so if u have a bigger tank get an apple snail because they are bigger. If u have more than one they might breed and have a ton of babies. Glass shrimp, marble shrimp, and amano shrimp are good too. Otocinclus Catfish (dwarf sucker mouth catfish) but with these you might need a heater,( i assume that since u say i have a cold water tank u mean goldfish) because ull need to keep the water at about 74 degrees.

a sucker fish wont work, the tank has to be heated, my brother bought 2 with out knowing and they both died that week... try a snail, but keep in mind they dont need another snail to reproduce, and snails sometimes can become a problem
