Sea monkeys, along with all aquatic organisms, produce waste chemicals (Ammonia, Nitrite & Nitrate.) If you don't have a test kit, then you should change about 50% of the water, using dechlorinated sea water ( Use sea salt from your aquatic supplier) It's best not to change all of the water at once because these guys are pretty sensitive creatures, & can go into stress & die.

If you clean it you will kill them-I made this mistake and my daughter still holds it against me (8yrs and counting) just let them keep going as is, add fresh water as the old evaporates and it will be just fine. You can switch them to a regular tank with a filter and grow light and they will fill that tank too. I had a friend who was doing really well with her 3 gallon tank for almost 5 years then she got guppies and they ate the sea monkeys. Have fun!

I have had these pets before, this is what you do:

Set aside a large bowl with enough water to hold all those sea monkeys. Set the bowl of water aside for 24 hrs.

Then after 24 hours you have to take the container they are in and gently pour then in to the water you set aside for 24 hrs.

Thoroughly clean the old tank with warm water and mild soap. Rinse and dry with a towel, wait for the container to completley dry, and then you can put those little critters back in their old tank.

Hope that helps!

Pour them into another clean containor and clean the tank. Be sure to not use toxic chemicals to clean it. Then just pour them back in.
