if your going to get fishies from the pet store, you should probably make sure that you get one or two PAIRS of fish (1 pair=1 female & 1 male).its probably best to get a pretty big tank so there is more habitatual space.this is needed for good breeding.
1 thing that is essantial for the fish to survive is getting fresh water for da fish.if ur going to fill the tank with water from your sink u HAVE to put those drops that remove chlorine.u may not know it,but there is always a certain amount of chlorine in tap water.ask the people at the pet store about the correct amount (its usually a few drops but i could be wrong!)
for good healthy fish, you have to get the fish food with the most nutrients.i think there are different foods for different types of food,so ask da people at the pet store about wat food and how much food to give your fish.
it is important to clean your fish tank regularly.its healthy for da fish to live in a clean enviorment.this can get pretty tricky.
you have to change the water about two times a week, but the problem is that you cant change the water with the fish in it.
so first before doing anything, fill another container with water and put a few drops of that chlorine-removing solution in.then VERY CAREFULLY take out the fish one by one in one of those fish nets(ask the people at the pet store about this too) and place them in the container. then take the dirty tank and drain it,wash it,and refill it.dont forget to add the drops!
i know i forgot something.......oh yeah, the fish need to breathe too so unless u have an open fishbowl(yes they still sell them) you have to buy an air pump. the manual for that should tell you how to plug it in to your fish tank, cause i forgot
i think thats pretty much it. if u have any questions, DONT ASK ME!!!!!!!

Breeding fish requires a great deal of time, space, patience, and money. You need a tank for the breeders to live in, a tank for the fry, and a grow-out tank. Sizes depend on the adult size of the fish you want to breed.
Once you have your equipment in place, you need to research your specific fish to find out if they're live-bearers or egg layers. You need to know whether they are paired fish or harem fish. You need to know the conditions under which breeding occurs.
Many fish breed very easily, such as the livebearers Magicman116 mentioned. But so do egg layers such as Rosy Barbs and White Clould Mountain Minnows. I recommend starting with an easy breeder. It will take a good half year to go from mating to rearing the fry to adulthood, or longer, depending on the type of fish you have; this isn't a hobby for those with no patience!

Really depends alot on what kind of fish you want to breed. The best one's to start with are probably livebearers like mollys, platys, swordtails or guppys. All those are quite easy to breed. You'll need one male and two or three females in the tank and really they will do the rest. When the female gets really fat with babies it's best to put her in another tank by herself to have the babies. That way the other fish don't eat them. If you don't have another tank and can't get one, you can use a baby net breeder that hangs in your tank and put the mom to be in there to have the babies.
Baby livebearers will eat crushed up flake food from the very first day so feeding them isn't hard at all.

It depends on the type of fish. Live bearers are the easest to breed, egg layers need a bet more time and work. They are both fun to breed. Both what ever kind you breed make sure to take the parents out when they have the fry so they won't eat the fry.

Ignore Confuzzeld?s answer. She's an idiot. We need to know which type of fish, they each have different breeding requirements. Try googling the kind of fish that you have and see if you can find any information about breeding them. Good luck!

It depends on the type of fish. For livebarers like guppys you need to have two females for each male and make sure it is comfortable for them. When they baby fish are born remove the adults in the aquarium and put them in a different tank. You can put them back together when the babies are big enough to defend themselves.
