I have a 2 gallon fish tank. I have a Whisper® In-Tank PF-10i in the tank. After 1 week after introducing the fish the tank is so dirty you can almost not see thru the water. I havent vacuumed the bottom yet because I have heard you need to let the tank setup for approx 2 to 8 weeks. I did salt the water when we 1st setup the tank.

I mean, I have had three comet goldfish for a year now and they have grown alot since ive gotten them, but can they grow into those big goldfish i see at the stores, the ones that can be white and gold? And if so does it take many years for them to grow or is just by chance my fish have just grown to their size because Ive spoiled them?

I decided it would be easier to keep the fry in the tank instead of seperating but is there a breeding trap sold somewhere cheap that would allow me to keep the fry in the same tank to grow up? Or once caught in the trap remove them to a new tank? Im sorry im so new about this fish stuff and Im just excited to have more on the way.ha.

My betta has had a small growth on his side for the last 6 months. A week ago, it grew larger (about the size of a pinky nail) and seems to have burst. Now there's all this white tissue flaking off of the growth. Inside there is a small red speck that looks like blood (the betta is blue so it really stands out), but he isnt bleeding. Since the growth burst, the betta has been acting a little lethargic, but he is eating fine.
His tank is kept at 80 degrees F. He did not have the growth when I bought him, but had it shortly after. Is it something in my water? I use regular well water in his tank. Or is there something I can do for him?

I've had a goldfish for about a week now, and it seems like it won't eat. Everytime I put the flakes in the water, the fish gets scared and hides behind the plants in the bowl. I don't think it's sick, because it's not discolored and doesn't have any unusual spots or anything. Could it possibly be that the flakes are just too big for the fish to eat?

It is a good sized black fish with yellow spots on it. Maybe in the catfish family?? He likes to 'hide'. I am thinking he prefers the dark. It was given to me by a friend of a friend. But I haven't a clue what kind of fish it is.

They are in a 55 gallon community tank.I just worry they might jump out of one of the small openings I have for the filters, etc.I don't think it's water quality as I change 1/2 the tank water every 2 weeks. If it helps with the answer, there are 5 balas,3 red finned sharks,2 goldfish (which are new),and 2 really large algae eaters (about 12 inches each)

I bought a new fish from the neighboorhood petco store and i decided to stuff it with the craziest fish i could find. while searching through my house to find a camera i discovered a old little internet camera that is very poor quality but i took pictures of my tank with it and posted them on photobucket. Take a look and give me some opinions if it looks good. bare in mind its less then a week old and the fish still arent adjusted.
