is it necessary to feed fishes everyday?what if we feed them in maybe 3 days gap?

I got a five gallon tank for Christmas, and I filled it with fish yesterday. Unfortunately I trusted the worker at the pet store (something I'll never do again, and shouldn't have done in the first place I later found out). My fish always fight, since two of them are barbs and the pet store worker told me they were all compatible. Also, apparently my tank is slightly overcrowded (6 small fish). The only two fish I want to keep are a Panda catfish and a pink spotted Molly. The rest I'll take back to the store.

My questions: do Mollies live well on their own, or do they need more of their kind? If they do need others, do two mollies do well in a 5 gallon tank with a small catfish? Does it have to be the exact same kind of molly? Or is it reasonable to have one molly and one catfish? Or perhaps a Platy? Thanks for any help!

First my Platties, all the fry were dinner... now I have some "stuff" on the side of my fluval in-tank filter (half way up) that looks like fish scales but all the fish are there and none appear to be missing scales... are these eggs? I have danios (3), angels (2), large 1 1/2" tetras (5), platties (3), dwarf Gouramis (2) and a yellow sucker cat (4" long)... whose eggs could they be? The angels are nipping at them...

When we brought it home it was about an inch long, now after 4 months it is 11 inches long. It is a silver color with very sharp teeth and has ate almost all of my other fish. The pet store said it was a Dragon Fish, but I looked them up and they are nothing like whats in my tank. It has very tiny 'pin-point' eyes. Looks somewhat like an eel, but has the mouth shape of a catfish. Please help identify this creature.

Our tank is 21 days old and was cycling really well. I only lost 1 fish and then yesterday I had the water tested and the amonia was really high- danger. I changed between 40-50% of the water as instructed and SUDDENLY this morning the tank is CLOUDY and one of my fish (molly) is suffering, seems to be dying at the bottom of the tank. Help me if you can!!!!!!

What is the best way to handle an aggressive goldfish in a tank? He is the largest one in the tank and is determined to keep the two others in the corners. About the only thing I can think to do is take him out and let him live alone in another tank?!?!?!?

i went to clean my goldfish out this morning and i found tiny jelly balls at the bottom of its bowl at first i thought that my son had poured a bag of silicone balls in the cage but then i realised there was far too many of them and they all stuck together in groups at the bottom. my fish hasnt been in contact with any other fish for at least six months, could a gold fish reproduce by itself ? does any one have a clue about what tthese are? any suggestions? thnx abbey xx

I have a silver lyretail molly male and he's started acting odd this moring. He is directly vertical, staying in one place, and moving a bit. He is in the corner of the aquarium, just moved but is swimming at a / angle. I've tested my water. All of my levels are perfect. Whats wrong with him!?

I love animals no matter how big or small so this is not a weird question I am just concerned. They seem depressed or sad should I say.

I have a beta fish, and I am moving in a few months, the move is from Minnesota to Texas, which we will be moving with a Uhaul, so its like a 20 something hour drive with stops and such, I have a cocker spaniel I will have with as well which I know he will be fine but will my beta be ok? I have his original container he came in, which I use to put him in when I clean his tank, will I be able to put him in that container with water and have him in the front of the uhaul with us, obviously keep him outta the run and just watch him will he be ok? Or should I give him to someone else and not risk trying to transport him?
