What is the best way to handle an aggressive goldfish in a tank? He is the largest one in the tank and is determined to keep the two others in the corners. About the only thing I can think to do is take him out and let him live alone in another tank?!?!?!?

what kind of goldfish is he? if he's a common, they do get pretty fiesty and this is usually the time they should be heading out to live in a nice big pond.

if he's not a common, or the other fish in the tank are fancies, aggressive bullying can damage the other fish, especially their swimbladders which can be fatal.

so rehoming him somewhere else is probably for the best!

You should get him out of there right away because hell think nothing of killing and eating the other 2! I dont know how big a set up you have but the tanks probably just 2 small for 3 fish.

Are you sure that you have a aggressive goldfish, because goldfish aren't aggressive,I had 3 goldfish they weren't aggressive, but I could be wrong. Now I have 2 Angel fish, that are aggressive, catfish, algae eater, and 2 tetras.but the angel fish do fight. You can put your aggressive in a separate tank,.that might help.but your goldfish could also be Territorial.

Removing him to his own tank or in with goldfish of a similar size or larger is certainly your best bet.

I would remove the other two from the tank, and it may take the stress off them.Moving him,may make him even more agressive, and I wouldn't put any other fish in with him, unless they are bigger than him.Thats what I recommend.
