I feed my fish twice a day as a rule. Once in the morning with flake food and once in the evening with a "special" food. This evening feeding could be any one of many things depending on the fish. Bloodworms, Daphnia, mosquito larvae, etc. For a young oscar maybe bloodworms brine shrimp or earthworms depending on his size. The point is to offer a wide variety in his diet.
Hope that helps

I would feed pellets once a day, as much as he can eat in ten minutes, they have a very good appetite and grow rapidly , so be sure to watch how much he eats so you can adjust feeding.

def once a day. a fish's stomach is no bigger then the size of its eye. plus, over feading a fish will cause your tank to get dirty and water to get cloudy. Oscars grow very, very quickly, regardless on how many times a day you feed it. be prepared! good luck!
