It really depends on the type of fish your talking about. Pregnant is a term reserved for livebears that are currently carrying embryo. In most cases the gestation time is about 28 days some a bit longer, some a bit shorter.

Females of egg laying species may carry eggs most of her adult life if she has no opportunity to spawn. This is usually not harmful to the fish in any way.

Fish are usually pregnant anywhere from 3-4 weeks.

it depends on the fish species. as you're talking about pregnant, that's livebearing fish only. (guppies, endlers, mollies, platys, swordtails etc...)

that usually is around 21 days from conception to baby fish.

egg laying fish are completely different and can be anything from 48 hours from the eggs being fertilised to a week or two.

i breed angel fish and they lay eggs about 2x a mo
