Fish - February 2007

I have a 30gallon planted community tank & one of my red tail sharks seems to "rest" a lot on the branches of my rotala plants while the other one swims constantly. Is this normal... or is he possibly sick? Today is day 10 of treating my tank for ick and showing no signs of illness in any other fish. Although my baby pleco is missing as well........

Im going to give some additional information on my tank for anyone who thinks they can help me.

my tank is 4 feet verticly. about 18 feet across something like that im not sure the exact measurements. i have no ruler in my hole god darn house. dont ask why.. anyway my tank is pretty big and my plecos have a lot of space. my flower horns and other fish are pretty happy. i had recently introduced a female pleco. before that the rest of my plecos were males.. maybe thats why lol

When do i need to move the eggs (after they've hatched)from the larger, main aquarium, to the hatching/growing-up tank? Or, when do i move the babies to the growing up tank thing?

OK, so I know that the color a female fish is not as brilliant, but I was given a fish today that is so/so in color. Does anyone know how else you can tell if a beta is a male or female? I would like to know so that I can name this little jewel! Thanks in advance

I have a tank w/ guppies and red eye tetras and want to add an african dwarf frog to my collection. I don't know if it will work out. Right now i feed the fish tropical flakes, but i know that african dwarf frogs like bloodworms, Will the others be okay with that too? Thank you for any answers!

im upgrading my tank soon to a larger one, i had many problems setting up my new tank (i was naive about the cycle and only listened to what the local aquatic centre told me...bad idea!) ...obviously now ive wised up to it. Is it possible to buy a new filter sponge and place it in the old aquarium along with the existing on for a week or so? would this be benificial? would it upset the levels in my old tank? im also going to use the gravel from my old tank and all the plants and ornaments.
i plan to monitor nitrite daily and ill not pus the fish in until it is safe, but i was just looking for any tips or advise that might speed up the process a litttle.

She has been swimming pretty much vertically for the past five to seven days now. At first I thought it was a water problem, so I canged some of the water. She wouldn't stop. So I cleaned out the whole bowl. She still wouldn't stop. So I placed her in the little tank in a breeder net (because I keep the all the fry in the small tank) to see if she would react that way to the fry's water. She did. I don't know what's wrong.

The white one is the one having the problems, in case it was hard to tell. Oh, and also, I apologize for the poor video quality. My camera's not the highest of tech.

Of course I don't need to tell you, but please tell me what's wrong and how to fix it.
