heyah well does anybody no what sort of fish get on with goldfish?

nothing should really be kept with goldfish except goldfish. they are cold water fish and they produce a lot of ammonia.

however that is not to say people don't keep them with them, it's just not the best conditions for the fish. danios can work, if there is temp compromise, keep it in the low to mid 70's, and you have a very good filter. you also have to be sure everyone is getting food because danios are very fast and will often eat all the food before goldfish get any.

platies and mollies and most other tropical fish are not good at all, they need warmer temps.

Goldfish should not really be kept with other fish. Tropicals have different temperature and water quality requirements and it's just easier to keep them separate. In fact, you shouldn't even put the slim bodied goldfish in with the fancies because they swim faster and eat all the food, and you also shouldn't even put fancies with regular eyes in with fancies with specialized eyes, such as telescope, bubble or celestial eyes because they can't see very well and won't get the food. Plus, most people don't provide enough space for goldfish to live in to begin with, so adding more fish just adds to the strain of the environment and makes the water quality worse. That said, provided you have enough space (10 gallons of water per goldfish minimum, plus extra for the other fish) you can add others such as apple snails, dojos, rubbernose or bristlenose plecos, hillstream loach or dwarf otocinclus.

How big is the tank? Swordtails and platies (though some individual platies are real aggressive), giant danios or larger minnow species, bettas, kuhli loaches. No sucker fish whatsoever, suckerfish love to eat goldfish.

Get a chubby-cheeked goldfish!!! They are absolutely adorable and my chubby-cheeked goldfish and it lasted me 4 years!
