Shouldn't be a problem at all, unless one find a way over or around the divider that is.

3 gallons is a little tiny to be divided.
maybe keep the 3 gallons just for the male? he'd love the space.
theres always a risk with divided tanks that, if the divider isn't tough enough, the betta can push through, or even jump over. and if one fish gets something nasty, it would be passed on to the other fish too.
and if you felt adventurous, you could pick up a 10 gallon tank (can be found dirt cheap) and heavily decorate it with lots of hiding places and have a nice little betta girl sorority. these sororitys have to be 5 fish or more though, girls can get pretty feisty, so as long as theres a few to spread out the aggression and lots of places to hide, they should be fine.

3 gallons is a splash tiny to be divided. consistent with possibility save the three gallons basically for the male? he'd love the gap. theres continually a hazard with divided tanks that, if the divider isn't difficult sufficient, the betta can push by means of, or maybe hop over. and if one fish receives something nasty, it'd be exceeded directly to the different fish too. and in case you felt adventurous, you ought to %. up a ten gallon tank (could be discovered dirt inexpensive) and heavily beautify it with a lot of hiding places and characteristic an excellent little betta woman sorority. those sororitys ought to be 5 fish or extra however, ladies can get notably feisty, so as long as theres some to opened up the aggression and a lot of places to conceal, they must be advantageous.

Betta's won't breed unless the water temperature is 82 degrees.
You can keep the male and female together in water around 76 degrees and they'll be happy and get along just fine. I have a tank with 5 females and one male and they are a joy to watch.

If you don't want to breed them, get another female. You can keep them in the same tank (without any divider) and won't usually have to worry about them killing eachother. I had 2 females and 1 male and they all got along fine. They won't breed if there is 2 females.

that is usually fine. i stopped keeping mine in divided tanks because i had a male that would slam the divider and nip at the other ones fins if he got close enough. the more space you give a betta the happier they are.
