besides using displacement?

Displacement is the only practical way to do it. You could take the fish out of the water and measure it, and do about 10 hours(my guess) worth of math equations. But displacement will take you about 30 seconds.

Just curious...
Why do you need to know the fish's volume? And why can't you use displacement?

Displacement is the only accurate measure. Be aware that the chart referenced above is specific to goldfish and then is only an estimate of weight and not volume.

Generally speaking, I simply look at the knob to measure my fish's volume. Thankfully, my fish are into classical music, so I don't mind if the volume is turned up high.
