I purchased sinking algae chips for my plecostomus and in one day the water was so dirty it had to be changed. What is the best brand and type of algae chips (or other food source) to give him that will allow my aquarium water to remain clean?

I have a 30 gal freshwater tank. I have had no problems with it until a couple of days ago when I put feeder fish in the tank. I have a clown knife fish, which looks like something is eating away at his tail, and I have two blood parrot cichlids, they seem to be okay for now. Now I notice that there is tiny white worms on the glass and in the water of the tank. What can I do to save my fish and what are the worms called?

1. Do you have tips in buying a nice and healthy flowerhorn?
2. How do you keep, feed, and breed flowerhorns? Is it okay for one to have tankmates?
3. What's the average life span and adult size of flowerhorns?

Hi there, I have quite a small fish tank, had it for about a year. About a week ago the filter started making a strange noise, like the noise it would usually make (humming) but much louder. I've cleaned it but doesn't seem to help. I'm not sure if there is a proper way of cleaning that I'm not doing or if it could be something else. Please help, I'm not getting any sleep!

I have a tube connected to a pipe (plastic) that is used for sucking the water out of a fish tank when changing the water, alge has built up in the pipes of this. Does anyone have a suggestion for cleaning it?

Also anyone have a good solution to cleaning off alge off rocks in the tanks? i can't use scrubbing brush, don't have sucky fish, or would like to use specials.

Thanks, sorry for spelling, can't remember how to spell alge.
