Hi,

How are you all to day?

As I had posted a short while back it was when I set the tank up, now I'm at the cycling point and would like some advice on this please?

The tank is a 10 gallon hex, I started with 4 small Zebra danios, The Ph did go up right away to 7.2 but it took a while for the Amania to go above 0. It finaly kicked in after a week, It didn't take long 2 fish died, I did a 20% water change the Amonaia is at about 0.25-0.50 I am doing the water changes every 3rd day as some sugested, but I think thats why the ph stays so high, Will adding fish drop the PH or should I ad some buuls eye 7.0??? What do you suggest? As I understood the Amonia will adjust on its own with time, Should I just keep on doing the water chages? Should I had 2-3 more wish? any ideas???

Thank all so much

Jack

I do feed them a pinch f tetra flakes every other day,

I dont think dwarf puffers are freshwater because where I got them they told they needed salt. I did put salt on their tank and they have been doing fine. I also want to know if they can be kept with marine fish. I would also like to get a web site.

I started out with 4 guppys like 3 weeks ago now im left with one.

The first one looked completly healthy one day then was dead the next

The second one was completly healthy then one day had like a cut on her stomach someone said she might have swollowed gravel then she died two days later

The third one died today he never looked that healthy a few days after I got him his tail got ripped up fromt he females fighting over him so I had seperated him for a few days until he started to look better but he usually stayed near the top in a corner then yesterday he just kept his head floating with like his lip at the top and his tail would float down then the female would come over and nudge him and he would just kinda swim once around the tank then go back. I walked in this morning and hes dead.

What is happening with all my fish? I clean the tank the water stays fine as far as like the ph levels and everything what should I do?

The angelfish is the only fish with the spots. I have never had ich before but I suspect this could be the problem. But if it is ich shouldn't ALL my fish be affected? .Also, I read that fluctuations in temperature can cause ich. I have noticed these spots after my heater quit in the tank and the temperature dropped severely a week ago. (From 80 to about 60) Luckily the fish survived and I have raised the temp back up. (it's at 77 and climbing) Please help..I need the advice of a fish pro.

My tank is only 10 gallons so it can't be anything big. I already have 2 zebra danios and they seem like the only type that will live for over 2 months. I've had all types of tetras, fancy guppies, cory cats, angelfishes, and several others but they all die. I really don't want to have a tank with just the zebra danios.

PS. I do all the proper aquarium maintance that I need to.

Thank You

okay, by betta fish reba sits at the bottom of the bowl all day and won't eat. He swims to the surface occasionally but only for water. His mid section is kind of pinkish white and my sister says he used to be darker. What should I Do i've looked on other sites but there are too many answers that this could be. What's the most relevant sickness that relates to Reba, my bettafish.

I recently bought two new 6 weekish fantails and i'm concerned about them.
My tank is 26 x 18 x 15 and I have a filter and oxygenating plants and regular gravel rinses etc, but they are frequently found just sitting on the bottom of the tank not moving.

I've thought they were dead a few times but then they'll perk up again after a while. I don't know if they're cold or something because my house is really old and freezing even with heaters on.

Also one of the fish eats food out of my hand :s which i thought was cute but a bit odd. i'll get the food pot out and it's like it recognises it and knows its food time so it'll swim to the top of the tank and wait for me to put my fingers of flakes into the tank and it'll eat straight out of my fingers.

Is this normal???

I thought it maight be blind in one eye too because one eye is completely black and the other looks like a regular eye lol

help lol

My snail has died. His 2" around shell is sitting at the bottom of its 10 gallon home. I'm clearly aware that it cannot live without the shell, but I cannot find the dead snail anywhere in the tank. There is no possibility that it was eaten by its tankmates, they are molly fry hardly large enough to eat crumbled flake food let alone a snail weighing several grams.

I'm very concerned about the welfare of my fry and do not wish any harm to come to them. Do snails vanish like this when they die? Or is the body hiding somewhere that must be found before it rots away and wrecks my water?

So i got a Top Finaquarium starter kit 10, it's a 10 gallon tank. I have gotten it all set up and letting sit for 48 hours before getting fish, but the kit also came with a trial offer of Stress Coat and Stress Zyme, do i put that in now? or wait until i get the fish? Also when i do have to clean out 10% of the water, how would i go about doing that? How many fish do you think i can have? would f4 plus an alage eater be to many? And one more question. I'm getting tropical freshwater fish, it says to leave the light on 8-12 hours a day, is it bad if i leave it on plus or minus a few hours? And please feel free to give me anymore advice...i'm pretty new to this. i've only had goldfish in a bowl...from when i was like 6.

The goldfish are about two and a half months new to us, and were previously swimming around very energetically all over the tank. IN the last couple weeks they are mainly at the top. Any ideas?

You know those backgrounds for aquariums that petshops sell?
Well I have a plywood aquarium (recently bought) the inside is painted blue (sealant). So I was wondering, is it possible to put them inside the tank? Without it bending, curling or doing anything else.

I have 1 guppy, 1 platy and 4 small dwarf puffers. But the puffers seem to be afraid of the guppy and the platy. What can I do, I thing the dwarf puffers are still very young. Also in Petsmart(where I got the fish) the aquarists told me that those fish could be kept in the same tank.

Do bamboo shrimp really need bamboo in the tank? I bought a shrimp today and the guy at the store said that there was a special bacteria that they eat which only grows on bamboo. Sounds like a load of ... to me. Please let me know!
