Yes it rpobably would BUT unfortunately it will also get rid of your fish. If the tank smells it's a sign the water needs changing. Try a water change before using Dettol

Why don't you just dump some bleach in there too you idiot! I reckon with that thinking that you have a grade 1 eduation at most. MORON you do not put Dettol in a tank. It will kill them. You should visit your local fish store and buy something proper to cure your tank. Then go to your doctor and ask him how your still walking and talking without a BRAIN!

Dettol into your fish tank? Wow, you'd be better off removing the fish. That'll definately get rid of the pong...trust me on that one.

It wont get rid of the smell, but cleaning it will, dettol, will get rid of the fish tho, is this meant to be a serious question?? LOL

Could possibly also kill your fish too.. Why not put fish in smaller bowl with some of the current water and clean tank out then re-fill it with water. Failing that why not ask your local pet shop for some advise..

No,not Dettol. That's not hip. Try something like Zoflora. Many different fragrances .Cool.

Ummmm taken the fish out i hope,,,give ur tank a proper clean out,,i used to wash mine with salt it gets rid of the sludge,, wash all the stones etc..i'm not a fish expert but mine seem to be ok..

It certainly would and as a bonus it would get rid of the cause of the pong too. Domestos works quicker.
